Jebao SDW Wave Maker Flow Pump with Controller for Marine Reef Aquarium (SDW-9, 2377GPH)

This wavemaker way too powerful for my 40 g Cube reef tank. I installed it and turned it on and WOW! It was sloshing water over the side in seconds wI had it on its lowest setting. I also noticed, almost immediately, that it’s not a quiet piece of equipment. Had it been a bit less powerful and not splashed water out of my tank, I probably would not have used it anyway because it makes an annoying noise. Since taking it out of the tank, I have moved it into the salt mixing station in the garage. There it helps to circulate the saltwater while being far enough away that I can’t hear it. Maybe I just got a freakishly powerful and loud one. Maybe yours will be slightly less powerful and much quieter. All I know is that I won’t be buying another.

I gave the 3000 gph pump a shot and it’s been great for the first 6 months so I got the 4000 gph pump as soon as I took it out of the box I noticed it was missing the magnet to stick it to the glass as well as the rubber spacer that is supposed to go on the pump to protect the glass. Overall it’s still an ok product for the price point. once u get the whole product that is. Quality control seems to be non existent.

Product came as described. I’ve owned this brand in the past. So far it’s a little noisy and I hope maybe when it breaks in that this noise will stop all together. I’ve had the same brand wavemakers and they lasted for a long time and were quiet.

I have mine on a smart timer. Great power and I love the random function. Very quiet

These pumps, both of them I purchased, spin quite free, however make a horrible grinding noise when they run. This means, the noise is coming from the pulses that are provided to the pumps from the controller, which in turn is definitely going to shorten their lives. If I didn't have to have these (my other Jebao pumps both died almost exactly 1 year after purchase) I would be sending them back. But, when you are in need, you gotta do what you gotta do.Hopefully this keeps others from purchasing unless you are in a noisy area and don't care about longevity. I will try to remember to post an update when these pumps do give out. Unfortunate.

Advertisement said the pump I was buying was new. I received it and could tell that it was refurbished or used.It had been in someone else’s aquarium in the past. Not the return so I just used it
