Really glad I bought this one!
This was a huge upgrade from the led light included with my tank. My plants are doing quite well with this light. The light does reach the substrate and penetrates my floaters. The support risers spread the light better than pullout rails. I did purchase the timer and I highly recommend it. I’ve adjusted the timer to 10 hours and I’m getting only a small amount of algae over a two week period. I may move it back to 9.5 hours. This light has given me a fully planted tank without the addition of co2. I do add micro nutrients but am still experimenting with macro ferts. If I remember correctly from the ad, it showed the extension rails and the clear plastic risers. This light did not come with the rails, only the risers. If you are buying this light for a tank longer than the light you will need the extension rails, so double check. This light has an aluminum housing which keeps it from bowing in the middle. The timer gives you the ability to add or subtract the actinic blue when it is in daylight mode. With it off the light is yellow, with it on it is whiter. In the first pic it is on, in the second pic it is off. I don’t know if the pics capture this very well or not. This is a reasonably priced 6500k light with actinic blue. I would definitely recommend this light.

Very well made and great for plants
Very well done product. I bought Marineland because it seemed better made than the other products. However, their light bar is nowhere near the quality of this prduct. It is difficult to grow plants with standard lighting. This light really lit up the tank and plants love it. Inalso bought the controller. You can set times on/off amd turn om/off blue lights. That said, I like the light color with the blue lights better than without. So if someone didn’t want to buy the controller, they would be fine if they like that color. The bar is made of metal and the sides are conpletely adjustable to fit any tank. Again, it is higher quality than the bar that came with my tank. Definite buy for those wanting to grow plants. And for those who are serious about having a nice tank, you really should consider plants to help balance the chemical byproducts (ammonia, etc). It also provides a nice habitat for fish and looks awesome as well.

Not bad for the price!
I have 2 of these in my 55 gallon. For 2 lights i get from Mid to High . As you can see in the picture, my plants started to grow side way instead of straight up due to high intensity of light. It all depends on what plants you have, but i do feel one light is more than enough. I also recommend the timer from this brand, it will save you so much hassle. I don't recommend turn off the blue led, let them run together so it can soften your light and decrease algae grow.Update:Trick to increase intensity of this light. You will need a timer plug and a the timer from its brand. From your light switch to On mode, set both timers turn on at the same time ( plug timer and the timers from its brand). This trick will increase the light to about 15%. If 2 lights are too much, you can drop down to one and use this trick to increase the brightness a bit. It will help.

It is a good light with adequate lighting for a lightly planted aquarium
It is a good light with adequate lighting for a lightly planted aquarium. It also has a black-light feature, which is great for glowfish. The leds may say blue, but they produce UV light. I already have a timer and didn't want any gimmicks with my light, so this light was appropriate and I saved money on not having the lightning and such. The only downside is that I can't slowly dim or start this light, which would be nice as to not freak out the fish. Overall, it is a good value. My payoff due to much lower wattage is about two year and the room that the tank is in is actually a bit cooler now. The output is about the same as four 48 inch T-12 bulbs on my 75 gallon tank.

I don't know why this brand isn't more popular
I have four lights from this brand; three 2' and one 4' which are 30 and 60 watts respectively as verified from my electrical meter. Nicrew isn't even close to that. To match a Beamswork you have to get a middle range Twinstar and those are about double the price. The quality seems to be good. My longest running light is about four years old with heavy use and so far no problems.

Great starter LED light
This light is a great value and I would recommend it as a starter LED setup. I went into this knowing that it did not have a dimming feature but this product would highly benefit from that small add on. I am pumping up my nutrients and co2 to combat an algea issue right now, I think the light is just a little too bright. I am also cutting back on some of the "on-time" for my daily cycle.

TWO TIMES ORDERED BOTH TIMES BROKEN.
bought this item TWICE and both times ends of lights were broken. First light received was bowed and ends were broken. second light received was not bowed but broken on the ends. Light itself works and is very bright, but didn't check on fish tank. So unsatisfied with how the product was received will not be purchasing another. Don't waste your time with this unless you want to risk receiving broken items and going through exchanges.

Great product even though I got the wrong light.
UPDATE! I doubled checked everything and I did indeed get the right light. So I've updated my review to 5 Stars..I ordered a 6500k unit. When it arrived I was pretty excited, so I got it all hooked up to see what the difference would be to my old light. Its well built, looks good, runs very quiet, and has decent light output. It wasn't until today when I was getting ready to throw away the packaging that I see the light is actually a 5200k unit. I'm a bit disappointed so thats why the 4 stars instead of 5. That also explains why the light output was so similar to my old light fixture. So my advice is check the packaging when your order arrives to make sure you got the right light.
