Great USB mic
I love this microphone. It being USB makes it super easy to set up and configure, looks great, voice quality is amazing. I can't really say enough good things about it. Highly recommend.

Solid microphone for convenient high-quality audio
I had a few audio projects coming up and I didn't want to rely just on my built-in laptop microphone. But I am not an audio engineer and didn't want to have to buy racks of equipment just so I could record high-quality audio. I also wanted my setup to be portable and durable. So after shopping around I decided on the Rode Podcaster USB Microphone. This is a hefty microphone -- very solid design. Also, using it couldn't be easier. Just plug it into my laptop's USB port (Mac) and start recording -- no need for external power supplies or other interface gadgets. On a Mac, just plug in the mic, fire up Garage Band, and start recording. I've already mentioned the heft of the microphone -- this means that you will likely need a solid mic stand to support the mic, especially since it connects to the stand at the base of the mic, and so the result makes the stand and mic a little top-heavy. But I am very happy with this mic -- easy to use, durable, and makes high-quality recordings. (review by Kendall Giles)

We send it to all of our clients
We send the RØDE Podcaster to all of our new blogging and podcasting clients. We like it because it is heavy-duty, and dead simple to operate. You plug it in and get great sound. Nothing to adjust. Røde's warranty is superb. We've only ever had one mic fail and they repaired it with no questions. (We think the client may have dropped it, but no matter...it was fixed and returned to us). If you're thinking about recording solo audio or Skype audio calls, this is a great choice. If you're doing webcam video, it looks darned nice too. It's a big, heavy mic. Do yourself a favor and grab the shock mount if the mic will be sitting on a desktop stand. If you're using a boom arm, it's less important, but you should still consider it. Besides, it looks cool too. Our clients love it because of the simplicity and the cool factor of having a good-looking microphone on their desk. It gets conversations started about their podcasting! We've tried other mics (AT2020, Apogee Mic, Blue Nessie, etc) We keep coming back to the Podcaster because of sound, simplicity and reputation.

Make sure you have what you need.
Absolutely a great microphone. The sound of this mic is great and the only place it really has any trouble is with the highs. You should make sure you have a few things before you get this microphone. This is a very wide microphone and I could barely fit it in the shock mount I had. As well as wide it is VERY HEAVY. If you plan on using a boom arm I would make sure it can handle the weight of it. This as well goes for any stand you use. This microphone does not come with a stand. I would also recommend you get a pop filter or windscreen. It has a built-in pop filter but its really not that good. Other than just needing a few things with this microphone ( Which you would need with any microphone ) it is a very good microphone overall and helps me keep out the noise of cars passing by.

Wonderful Mic
I just started using the mic for podcasting. It is a good fit. Simple plug and play with good sound. A good friend (Allan Tepper, from TecnoTur) recommended I try his and see if I liked it. I also tried the Heil PR40 (which he had) and the sound quality was very close. I believe I sounded better with the Podcaster. My podcasts are very short (Educational Exporting) and not having to buy additional equipment to connect the mic was a definite plus. I had echo in my first few tests and tech support assisted. They did have me run a few test and the issue was clearly identified to be software rather than the hardware. The tech support was not what I expected. Hours of operation are 2pm - 6pm PST. This makes it challenging when you need support. Also, the support came via email. The support was very good (which is why I did not grade them down for it). Wish list: Better hours of operations for support. Overall: Very Good. Will be buying another when I am ready for interviews

love it
use it on my voice chats on my chat client w a windscreen and others say i sound like i'm completely on radio. i have several mics by this brand of all prices and they all are exemplary. i typically don't talk about cheap v expensive because there are jewels out there for affordable prices, but i love this; i wish there were a darker color (gray or even black) to match my setup, but i do have the procaster which is a sibling to this mic and it's black, so i mean...i have what i have and all the microphones from this brand are amazing.

Excellent microphone USB Matériaux de construction de bonne facture. Très bonne qualité de son, même si le volume du son résultant est un peu bas à mon goût (un pré-amplificateur avec plus de gain aurait été le bienvenu). Fonctionne sur Windows 10.

Before purchasing this mic I spent a good few days reading reviews of different microphones. I needed it to make video tutorials and do podcasts but I also needed a mic that produced great quality sound out of the box without having to edit it and improve the sound quality. I first bought the Audio Technica AT2020 USB + mic and tested it out. Since my home is on a main road and the sound indoors is not very well insulated the mic was picking up a lot of background noise like cars and buses driving by. In fact it was very sensitive to background noise and I had to turn down the gain quite a bit so much that the recording volume was really low when I played it back. Obviously, I decided that the AT2020 USB + mic was not for me. I then read some more reviews and decided to try out the RODE Podcaster USB mic as I have seen some very successful internet marketers using this mic in their videos. Since it was the priciest out of the USB mics I thought that maybe it's due to the high quality that it is so pricey. In my very first test I was impressed by the RODE Podcaster USB mic as my voice sounded so clear when I listened to the recording and it hardly picked up any background noise (even though there is a lot of background noise in my home). I was also able to turn the gain up to almost 70% without it picking up much background noise. I've only had to test this mic out twice before deciding that this is the mic for me. I know that the price of this mic might put some people off but if you are planning to use a mic a lot for whatever reason then it is worth investing in a good quality mic as it will sound more professional and with this mic you don't have to worry about improving the sound quality after recording (unless you want to of course). It also comes with a 10 year warranty which is incredible.

This is my 3rd mic. I already used a Blue Yeti, which is the great mic, but too big and sensitive to keyboard typing. The Sure SM 58 did require an adapter to connect to a computer. But this one is my favorite so far. I love it, the sound quality is very good, and I do not need anything else because it connects directly to the computer. Noise level is very low, I do not apply any noise reduction anymore

Bravi australiani!
