To any who have hesitated in getting this book . . .
I am reading The 12th Planet (for the second time, so it can come together for me). When I first started reading it I was very curious about Enki, and wanted to order this book. I changed my mind because of the reviews on here. I was turned off by the poetic stuff, and just wasn't interested in reading it. But the more I continued reading, the more curious I became about Enki, and finally my curiosity got the best of me (it usually does)! I have started reading this book, and just can't put it down. I am now about three fourths of the way through the book, and just had to stop to come write this, in case there were others who were hesitating like I was. I didn't want to read poetry, nor things I didn't really understand. This book is not like that at all. It is written in lines, but they don't rhyme. It is an interesting kind of wording, but one I quickly became used to, and which is not irritating to me at all. It's amazing the amount of knowledge that this man (and Enki) pack away in this fashion, in this book. This book is absolutely mind-boggling, thrilling and absorbing. I am constantly amazed at how ZS takes so many different sources (i.e. greek mythology, egyptian mythology, biblical history, archaeology, science, and many others) and combines them into one coherent whole! He has also included an excellent, inclusive glossary. While I have not by any means made my mind up yet (like it matters one whit what I believe), I have to say I am extremely impressed with what this man has accomplished (Enki too, by the way)!So if you're hesitating at all, I'd advise you to take the plunge! This book is totally phenomenal! I also would give it 10 stars! Now I have to go finish the book!P.S. OK, I came back. I saw that there is no 'look inside' to this book, so I'm going to type you up a sample of the writing, so you can see for yourself if it's something you can read or not (this is just a sample I pulled out of the middle of the book)(It is double-spaced like this through the whole book, which makes it very easy to read):To Nibiru I wish to return! to his two sons did Anu say.Beforehand upon Alalu there must be a judgment; a sentence thecrime befitting must be imposed!By the laws of Nibiru seven judges were required, the highest ofrank on them to preside. In the square of Eridu the heros were assembled the trial of Alaluto observe. For the Seven Who Judge, seven seats were provided; for Anu,presiding, the tallest seat was prepared.

Fascinating read
I thoroughly enjoyed this book and could hardly put it down. Zecharia Sitchin has brought together every piece of ancient written text, ancient song, prayer and oral story/myth he can to tell us about the creation of the solar system, the coming down of the 'gods' (ANNUNAKI) to earth, terraforming, gold mining, their rule of the planet, the creation of man in their own image as a workforce, and their internal squabbles, jealousies and wars over recognition, power and territory. The author has drawn it all together into this epic long poem format, as though it had been written by E.A (aka EN.KI, Lord of the Waters), the eldest son of ANU, Lord of the Heavens and ruler of NI.BI.RU. EN.KI tells a story that spans more than 450,000 years and answers many of the questions that scientists, theologians and archaeologists still puzzle over today. The book is both exciting and enlightening in turn and for me it also brought together many of the strange and incoherent happenings in the Bible's Old Testament into a much more understandable whole. How could the ancients such as Noah, Enoch, Elijah and Abraham have lived for hundreds of years? Were there ever giants on earth? What actually caused the Deluge? Why is there a desert in Sinai that is covered in blackened melted glass where nothing grows? How come fully formed advanced civilisations started up in 4 separate regions on the earth within a thousand or so years of one another when man was barely able to build a mud hut? Why did these advanced civilisations degrade over time rather than continue to evolve to greater heights? How did genetically modified forms of grasses suddenly evolve to have multiple sets of chromosomes and produce huge heads of edible seeds when even tiny natural modifications would have taken thousands of years? How did earth suddenly get domesticated animals, monumental cities, sewerage sytems, farming, food storage, advanced astronomy, written language, mathematics, religion? What where the pyramids really built for? What was the tower of Babel really for? Why was/were the ancient God/Gods of the Old Testament so cruel, vengeful and war-like?Even if you think that the story is complete fiction, or that the author has mistranslated or drawn conclusions from ancient texts that are too far-fetched, it really doesn't matter as it stands alone as a good read. I personally enjoyed it and think it's well worth reading especially if you are interested in the Annunaki and the planet Nibiru, the so called 12th planet from whence they were thought to have come. Who knows, maybe Nibiru does exist and we just haven't seen it yet. Maybe it really will come back around our sun on an elliptical orbit and cause us some havoc and prove the existence of an old ruling race on earth who gave us their DNA. Now wouldn't that be a smack in the eye for all the skeptics! If it does, I hope I'm still alive to see it LOL
