Q: What hardware did you purchase to hang this?

I bought a very thick rope to hang from my tree. I also bought a heavy duty clamp, like on a dog lease to attach to Hammock. I love my hammock. I bought one in Mexico made out of cotton. Did not last one season. This one is of a nylon material and seems to be very strong and will last several seasons. Also, I bought some outdoor cushions for chair and it fits perfectly in the hammock for a sturdier balance for someone my age (65)

Q: How much clearance does this need so that someone sitting in it isn't hitting the floor?

I would say you'd have to have a stand atleast 9' high to not hit the bottom. I had one 7' high and I sat right on the ground. I'm only 5'4" and 140lbs. Very nice hammock chair though! Wish I could've kept it! Had to settle for something smaller.

Q: If you have to hang it 9-10' high for heavy people, how do you get in it?

The best way is to buy a chain and keep playing with the height until you’re satisfied you can get in and out comfortably. A couple of months later you’ll probably shorten it up by one link or even two to adjust for the stretch of the chair. I recommend a reasonably heavy duty chain and double S hooks at the bottom. At the top I have a four inch locking carabiner.

mine measures 47" ... if you add on the tassel knobs it's 48" wide
