Replacement Remote Control for Insignia RMC-STR514, NS-STR514, NS-STR514C

It is bulky but gets the job done.

Works perfectly for a (near pristine) NS-STR514 that I found on the side of the road. I was hoping that the Menu button would do something on this receiver (since I enjoy messing around with settings on things), but at least now I can adjust the Bass and Treble levels, which is the reason why I bought the remote in the first place. I also discovered that the receiver has Bluetooth through the remote; not that I'd use it, but cool nonetheless.I like the vintage mid-90s design, but if I had to complain about anything, it would be the font on the remote's logo. It's ugly. So is the text that says "SLIDE DOWN" (which you can see in the picture). Oh and at first I thought that holding down the button to adjust the volume/EQ didn't work, but it turns out that there is just a ¾ second delay upon hitting the button before the receiver recognizes that you're holding down the button. Not really a big deal cause it prevents you from accidentally cranking the audio. I think the behavior is by design.Batteries are included, by the way, but come preinstalled for some dumb reason. I'm lucky that the remote wasn't just sitting in a warehouse for ages, cause if it was then the batteries would have corroded. The manufacturer REALLY should have packaged them separately. I got lucky.In conclusion, I'm satisfied. But I'm also going to use some brass cleaner/paint thinner to remove that hideous text. Regardless, thank you for making this remote.

Works out of the box. Can change volume and power on/off. 4 star cause you can’t change source/input with remote.

This remote feels more solid and responsive than the original Insignia remote. It worked right out of the packaging and batteries were already included and installed. No complaints.

This thing worked perfectly out of the box. Exceeded my expectations. It does have a lot of extra buttons to allow for compatibility with other stereos of the same type but it just takes getting used to.

I wish I would have thought to see if this was available years ago!!
