It works as it is intended, however the connectors are constantly wanting to separate...a strong determined toddler could demolish this in a blink of the eye. I'm lucky I had a passive granddaughter who would heed reprimands not to go there! Now I have a grandson who might really put it to the test! Only two months old now so too early to tell.

Does the job. Easy to install. Took off 1 star because the gate doesn't close smoothly. You have to bend down and align the top and bottom latches for it to close. Not a problem for me but is a tad inconventient as So we walk through it constantly. If it were around a fireplace or wood stove I don't think it would be an issue for you. Does the job and is a Good value for the price.

This thing falls apart every time you need to move or adjust it. It's not securely made.

We are as happy as one can be with a "cage" in the family room. But it is a great alternative to having a little one get burned on a hot woodstove. Been there, done that.....this will prevent such an accident from happening again. The black finish goes nicely with the black stove and gray/white tile. Our only complaint was the mounting hardware. It was difficult to get in place and first time pressure was put on gate, one of them popped off. We had to find some washers to remount it. It assembled fairly easily even with less than adequate instructions, however, we have considerable "assembly" experience.

This does not straighten out to 90 degree angels. If you want something that fits smoothly around the fireplace this IS NOT IT.Seller is fabulous and very helpful though.

Item arrived broken and seller was awful to work with. Also pictures straight and the first thing in the directions warns that it is not safe to have any straight lines on it!
