Actual Chills (updated)
This one legitimately scared me! I read the whole series back to back in about 2-3 days and this one stuck with me. It didn’t help that I was up until almost 3AM finishing this one. What I’ve enjoyed the most about these stories is how very real everything feels. There are legitimate explanations for everything that happens, even the behavior of the “lost ones” and the outright crazy ones. I think that’s what scared me so much: the possibility that these events could happen in real life. The group splitting up to search three mansions at once was not smart. I know the author did this to inject more suspense and move along the plot; however, it doesn’t seem like something the group would do after everything they’ve been through in the previous books. It seemed out of character, especially for Carl. Everyone knows bad things happen when you split up.Riley and Xander continue to be a minor annoyance for me. Their puppy love lays on a little too thick for my taste. I feel like we should have got more time with other characters instead of focusing on them. Carl, for example, is the unofficial leader but we never delve too deep into his backstory or see his relationships with the other survivors. His perspective is always as the leader, making decisions and telling everyone what to do. At the end of the series (no spoilers), it’s heavily implied he forms a relationship with another survivor yet we never see much interaction between the two. I would have liked to explore that.

good
This was a tricky one. I got book one as a free download. Clever ploy as the book was very interesting and I immediately down loaded Book Two. Which was a trick. Because what had been an interesting apocalyptic thriller suddenly converted to zombie mayhem. I HATE zombie books. Don't read them. Once more, HATE zombie books. But the dang story was compelling enough that I read it. And then downloaded book 3 and then book 4. Which were still zombie books...and still good. So, if you can't take zombie books, don't start with this series at all. If you do like zombie books, then you're all set. No vulgar language, no nasty sexual situations, lots of zombie mayhem and violence. Characters well written. Looks like someone did take the time to proof read and run the spell checker, which is often lacking in this genre. Good books...watch out for the zombies ;)

THIS ONE MADE ME CRY AND MY HEART HURT.
Oh, gosh I hope none of us has to live through something as brutal as this world. Erica Stevens has made this 4 book series something that grabs you and won't let go. The humanity of her writing and the characters force you to imagine what you would do if this happened. It makes me want to start exercising to get in shape and take shooting lessons so I am not just average but am proficient with guns. I want to be prepared no matter what to be able to survive. This is the first time in 55 years that I feel these things and God in my life are absolutely the most pressing matters of my life today.Do not miss reading this series as it will make you take stock and wonder if you can survive. I recommend this series be read in order, these are not stand alone books. I also believe the readers should be no younger than 17 as the books can be quite frightening and violent at times.I can't express Ms. Davies just how much I like your books.

I just love this series--it takes you on such a intense adventure
It's so hard to give a accurate review on this book with out giving away any spoilers!! AHH! I just love this series--it takes you on such a intense adventure. Book 3 we will follow the group of survivors as they continue to travel in hopes of finding a safe place to live permanently. During their travels, they come across more of the lost souls. This provokes the group to question if there could be a cure for these people and hope for the humane race. Riley makes this a priority to research as much as she can before more people are lost. This book isn't all sunshine and rainbows though; Riley, John and the rest of the group will come across more survivors. They will welcome some, and even lose some familiar faces. With all the dynamics of this book, I often found myself holding my breath in anticipation or fear of what was going to happen next. Erica Stevens never disappoints with her details and characters--I'm so excited and yet sad to start the last book in this series.5heart emoticonheart emoticonheart emoticonheart emoticon

You won't be disappointed!!
Love this series. Apocalyptic and survivor excitement with great characters. The stories are action packed and I was hooked after downloading the first one for free. Paid about $4 for each one after that and cannot say a penny was wasted. The author is a great story teller and keeps you interested and eager to find out what happens to the characters in the next installment.Yes, there are still a few errors grammatically and in word choice (wrong form or wrong spelling), however they are not distracting and are very forgivable seeing as they are great stories and more than reasonably priced. So if you are a stickler for excellent editing - please move on to a best selling author with best seller prices.I love that the internet has given an outlet for great story tellers to provide avid readers so much enjoyment either free or very inexpensively, even if they cannot afford to hire great editors (few very critical review writers understand how much money it costs for editing).Thank you, Erica, for a great series. When I'm finished with #4, which I will start as soon as I am finished with this review, I look forward to reading your other works!

Great read
Another fantastic book from Erica Stevens. Book three of the saga did not disappoint. Well written, easy to read and fast paced storyline. Characters are brilliant, feel as if I know them. Highly recommend this series.

Gripping series
The only thing I disliked was that I had to finish the books. They gripped me from the first to the last. All the characters were believable and assessable and I enjoyed them all. A really great series that were both surprising in their structure and delivery. Yes you guessed I am related to the author (only joking). This is the first series I have ever felt the need to review but I feel that these stories should be accessed by a wider readership. Great.

Repeat
I like the characters but the reader is kept as much in the dark as them. It seems you have to keep buying books, keep up with exhausted characters, keep wondering what will happen next. Good if you have the time and money...but isn't everything?

Excellent
Apocalyptic story unlike others I've read before. Definitely a keeper. Realistic characters, both good and bad, excellent and unusual story. The earth fights back........

Excellent, hard to put down
Well written, good continuity, believable characters (good and bad). Still some bad spelling and grammatical errors though, but not as bad as the first two books though. Eagerly looking forward to reading the final installment.
