I have this as a gift and they loved it! Very interesting book, especially for the art lover or artist.

It contains colors observed in nature. Gives u reference as to where it was observed. +

Even though it was originally published 200 years ago. The organization of colors (and the reasons behind it) is great! I would recommend this book to a variety of readers: casual, arty, coffee table - ers, science - y - everyone. I have given several copies to friends already. It was well packaged, came on time and is like the picture.

The book appears to be a print on demand publication. This is evidenced my an apparent misprint. The first part of the book is a children's story called Petie the Chicken gets a New Home. The print date comes at the end of this story, two days earlier. It is a bit off centered or sized wrong cutting off a bit the left edge of the printing. After that WERNER'S starts. It seems to be printed well. It is complete, well printed, accurate color. I guess I'll look at the children's story as a bonus. I would have preferred it to not be there. I don't really know how to rate something like this, but I will take one star off for nutty printing.

This book is for anyone who loves antique books, dabbles in the arts or just loves the written word. The use of words to describe colors is magnificent here. It’s expensive, imo, but I even thought of framing at one pages, it’s so beautiful.

Literally referring to the actual text of the book clearly explains why an antique tint on all the pages was a bad idea.I can guess based on what is written that it would be lovely on a blank based paper.As it is, this is an inexcusable joke insulting and dismissing the very concepts it is designed to explain.I used the inside of the cover to show the heavy tint on the pages and the results of that choice.
