I take my car to redline at least a couple of times per week, and with oil changes every 3K miles, my oil comes out still looking relatively clean (not obsidian-black) like with other oil changes on other cars. I don't know if it's because I have always taken great care with my car's maintenance, I always use Mobil 1 synthetic oil, and I always use quality filters. Anyhoo, the filter seems to do a good job at keeping your oil, and thus, your engine internally clean. My odometer is at 120K and I plan to keep using these filters (or Mobil 1's) for the foreseeable future. This is similar to the white K&N (K&N HP-1010 Oil Filter) but is a few bucks cheaper. I am not sure whether the white filter is any different internally (i.e., more filtration media), but if it only adds the ability to wrench it off, I'm not sure that it is worth the +$4 premium-- just remember to oil your oil filter gasket with fresh oil before installing it, screw it on and then turn an extra 2/3 turn once it touches; and it should come off pretty easily when the time comes for the next oil change.

Put one on my 2004 Civic VP July 2020,perfect fit ,no leaks bought 2 July 2021 at $4.30 each why look a gift horse in the mouth.I only drive 4500 miles a year use fully synthetic oil, car has 140000 miles.Shocked to see price increase $12.99 each after I use the one I have left if price does not come back to planet earth I will search for better value.

I like k&n as the body does not crush as easily as others. My car has a very difficult to reach filter that I either need to pull the wheel or go in like an acrobat with the wheel cut to the side. It is a long reach and sometimes I have crushed other filters trying to get a grip on them. The k&n is a little more solid.

I have bought the exact same filter but with walmart to see what was the difference and I notice that the one from walmart has some type of oil. Now i don't know if it's for lubrication purposes or if it's a defect in manufacturing but nonetheless, I decided to go with the one from amazon as it was dry and empty. When I looked and flashed my light inside the filter I saw it was nice and clean and dry. But I did notice that there was some type of black thing in the filter itself It was a small detail which i didn't mind but so far 1 month in and I have no problems at all with this filter will look into buying this filter again once I need an oil change.

I bought this filter on a deal. Usually buy Fram filters, but was curious about K&N. I like their air filters so I though I would give the oil filter a try. It works just as well as a Fram.

Nice quality build, trusted brand that's been around for a long time. I used this for my wife's '21 Honda Odyssey. Added some new oil to about the half mark in the filter, dabbed some oil around the rubber seal and twisted it on hand-tight. No problems!

I can't say much about an oil filter, K&N has always been a choice of mine since 1973 when I purchased my first air filter for my Yamaha 175 Enduro. K&N always delivers.

I did an oil change for my Acura MDX and this filter fits and works as advertised.

When it works I'm sure it's just fine, mine unfortunately failed and started rusting causing an oil leak from the side.
