One of the few without sucralose
Over the past several years, sucralose has taken over as the preferred sweetener for health/fitness foods like protein powders and protein bars. But sucralose is documented as being antagonistic toward gut bacteria and for this reason, it causes me a lot digestive distress. So I've learned to avoid it like the plague. However, it has become harder and harder to avoid. I was happy to find this brand and this flavor a few years ago and I've been buying it ever since.I'm not really a chocolate person but I've also learned to accept that most of these foods come in various shades of chocolate. Cookies and cream flavors are the most acceptable chocolate flavor and this bar is reasonably tasty. It's not too hard or too soft, with an almost candy bar like consistency. Not quite, but close. It's somewhat thick as you're chewing it but not so much so that it's hard to eat. And it's appropriately sweet but not too sweet. If you like cookies and cream flavored snack bars, this is a pretty good bar with whey protein and some added vitamins and minerals. You can slide it in your bag or purse when you're on the go or when you're too lazy to just make yourself a proper breakfast. It's reasonably priced for this category (this category is expensive, though) and when you buy a box like this, it's the closest thing you can get to economical.

Good choice
Great, May be a little higher than average in fat and sugar, but you won get hangry, hungry.

Great Deal on Quality Protein Bar with Essential Micronutrients
I was searching for a high quality protein bar priced affordably, and Promax had a deal that caught my attention. The deal was, I think, an amazing $15.99 USD for 12 Cookies'n'Cream protein bars packed with 20 grams of complete protein, calories, and essential micronutrients making Promax protein bars just about on the same level, in my opinion, as a meal replacement bar, something I really liked about Promax's protein bars.First, the quality: The Cookies'n'Cream flavor was, in my opinion, not as good as some of the other Promax protein bar flavors, but the taste was still good, the bars were easy to eat, and left little residue on my hands after eating them. While these bars are packed with nutrition, I would have liked the protein sources to have been just whey and casein based as I think these are better quality sources of complete protein than soy protein, but soy protein is a complete protein too, and plant-based. But ... second, I really liked the price which I thought was a great deal at one box costing about half its original price. Third, I also really liked the nutrition packed into just a few of Promax's protein bars a day which provides a significant amount of macro and essential micro nutrients on the same level as a meal replacement bar in my opinion. Fourth, I liked the packaging. Each protein bar came individually wrapped in an easy to open yet sturdy wrapper, and it was great that the protein bars came in their own re-usable box.

Taste Fantastic, You forget that it is a Protein Bar
Love these bars. You forget that they are actually really good for you. I was introduced to them back in 2000 and have loved them ever since. I actually ordered these for my son, who is a football player to have after practice and for myself to have for breakfast and or lunch... They taste fantastic!!! only protein bar that I will spend my money one.

WAY too sweet for the morning!
I've been trying out these bars for about a week now and I would recommend them as a good source of protein. But that's it. Just a source of protein. As someone who rarely eats breakfast, I was looking for a "meal replacement" to grab for the morning commute. With each bar containing 20 grams of protein, I've found that this is a satisfactory way to tide myself over until lunchtime. HOWEVER, although this is a delicious snack for the morning, there are two reasons why I cannot give a five-star review. The first reason: THIRTY GRAMS of sugar?! It is far too sweet for me to handle, and I actually have a major sweet tooth. I've found this problem with most protein bars and have yet to find something tasty yet not over-sweetened. However, this is not an effective way to lose weight OR bulk up on muscle. Although you may be consuming 20 g of protein, you're also loading up sugar and other sorts of processed junk into your system.Secondly, I'd like to add that the wrappers and advertisements claim that these bars contain NO high fructose corn syrup. They DO, however, contain "corn syrup", as listed in the ingredients (and probably the reason why these bars are so ridiculously sweet). As a chemist, I know the subtle differences here and understand the advertising fraud. Do some research on light corn syrup; it has no better impact on your health than all of the HFCS hype. This is not a healthy way to start the day.In conclusion: if you want some protein and skip breakfast, then fine...this protein bar is average at best. If you're trying to eat healthier, lose weight, or bulk up on muscle, start making a shake from 100% whey protein in the morning or eat organic superfood bars that have nutrients and useful meal components (ProBar, Odwalla, etc). If you want a once-in-a-while sweet snack, go for the Promax bars.
