As a Vivotek camera user for the last decade with at least 7 models installed on 2 homes, I prefer the 180 degree view with IR illuminators for protecting my home. 180 degrees means better viewing angles with less cameras. The IR illuminators do the job and can be configured to turn on/off at certain times. I have never had a Vivotek camera fail, even in the cold of winter in West Virginia. My only complaint would be the difficulty in setting up the camera to capture snapshots of motion events and sending them to me via email. For some odd reason, this camera will not send smtp emails to my gmail or other domains, despite them being known good settings. I am currently in discussion with Vivotek to sort this out.Vivotek IP cameras are more expensive than some other cameras on the market, but you get what you pay for. Match this camera with an inexpensive Vivotek NVR and you can view captured video on a PC or your phone.
