Secure your railing post
Worked great. Watched some YouTube videos on how to install and it is exactly what I was looking for. Very sturdy and worth the money. I would buy it again.

Works well even in a concrete floor
First, I'm very satisfied with the results of my project. My railing posts are very secure and I believe they will hold up for many years. While the instructions were clear and the product was easy to use, I wished that the company website or product packaging had more information on how to secure the bolt in a concrete floor, which my situation required. A concrete adhesive (the kind with two tubes of product you mix together that sets in about five minutes) worked but I had to research elsewhere and was very nervous about using a quick set epoxy that I wasn't necessarily sure would hold. The ratcheting gizmo is a neat design. It didn't matter for operation but I did find it odd that the bolt threads were opposite of normal (lefty tighty, righty loosey) and I had to keep reminding myself to turn the ratchet the "wrong" way during Installation. I felt that the price was high for what's essentially a lag bolt and fancy nut but I do have piece of mind that no one will tumble down my stairs. One more aspect that I like is that if you ever need to disconnect the newel post from the floor it can be accomplished by drilling out the wood plug, which would enable you to reuse the expensive hardwood post. Update: After several years, I'm increasing my review from 4 stars to 5 stars. In my old house, some high strength epoxy held Super UT Newel Post Fasteners in a concrete floor and the posts never loosened for as long as I lived there. And in my new house, I have purchased and installed Super UT Newel Post Fasteners to secure a wobbly and unsafe railing.

Worked for me!
This works totally as advertised. I am a DIY person (but to be honest, I am a bit of a 'hack'). These worked great for me. The only reason that I did not give this product a 5-star rating, is that I found it to be kind of easy for the gear drive to get stripped. I ended up ordering an extra Zipbolt, just because I stripped the first one. I suggest initially tightening the gear drive fastener by hand for a few turns, before hitting it with a electric fastener (aka cordless drill). I am very satisfied with this product, and would recommend it.

Does just what it should
I don't write many reviews but I hope this one will help someone installing this in concrete. The bolt works great, the post is solid once tightened. I had a hard time gathering information to find for concrete installations so I'm going to explain how I did it: If you're installing in concrete, make sure your bit is an 1/8" bigger than the diameter of the bolt. Drill down as far as mentioned on the directions. Clean out all dust from the hole with a shop vac, brush, bolt, etc. Get the dust out completely, then I used the following epoxy: Sika Anchorfix-2, super strength anchoring adhesive, Two component anchor system for threaded bars in uncracked concrete, 10.1 fl. Oz https://a.co/d/2JaAc69 Filled the hole up about halfway, then filled the threads on the bolt as well. Work quick, the stuff sets in 4 minutes. I waited a day before I put the post on a tightened it down. Hope this helps someone.

The BEST way to anchor a Newell Post. Can’t go wrong with these.
Zip bolts are the best way to attach Newell posts to the floor. They are easy to use if you follow the detailed instructions which are included. Very important to have the correct size (3/8 and 5/8 spade) and length (about 8” to 10” long) drill bits including a 1.5” Forster bit. They came with the T40 bit needed to tighten the bolt. These are excellent and we’re not carried by any local building supply stores.

Not as advertised
The fastener striped first time I tried to install, and now won't spin. Basically is jammed and can no longer be used. The gear drive technology did not last
