APC 7-Outlet Surge Protector 1080 Joules, SurgeArrest (P74)

Purchased my first APC surge protectors in 2000. This past year they were replaced as part of a recall. Liked the new ones so well that I purchased three more. They are lighter than the older surge protectors which had a metal case. All the functions of the earlier models are the same, but the new ones have a longer cord which is more useful. The new ones also come with extra caps for the outlets which protects empty ones from accumulating dust and debris. Great product for a fair price. APC does stand behind its gaurantee!

We often buy hardware and software technology items for our clients on eBay, but we've learned that the best deal isn't always available in an auction. We recently needed a number of good quality power strips to keep on hand for customer needs. We've used APC SurgeArrest before and knew it was a quality, although sometimes pricy, device. It has a good functional design, safety features, power-saving 'green' features and it comes with it's own $25,000 user's equipment insurance policy. That's hard (maybe impossible) to beat for under $10 each and FREE shipping too!

I bought two and use one for my home computer and one for my television. Both have worked great and have given me any problems what so ever. They do come with plug covers so that the unused plugs do not get dust inside of the unit. Also, the lights on the units are nice and visible if you look directly at them but are not very visible if not looking directly at them. This is good because I do not want green/red lights showing from behind my computer desk/television stand.

It's a good standard surge protector. Quality is good and I use with with all my computers. My only complaint is that they raised the price from $9.99 to $13+ something. They should also have 1 output turned to the side so that you can get one of those nasty large transformers in there without taking up 3 slots.

Great surge protector! For the price this is the best one I've ever owned. Has an LED screen that shows if there is a surge and how high it is (for more advanced users), has 7 outlets instead of the usual 6, the green ON light changes if there is a problem, looks cool, is as compact and light as it could be, and has a long enough cord. Instructions are simple and show users what to do in case of a surge to protect computers or expensive electronics. Many users may go with a 2-foot cord to save money, but you never know when you might need a few more feet. Made for three pronged plug electronics. I recommend this one highly.

Black - unobtrusive on dark flooring.Black - lack of contrast between case and plug slots can be challenging in low light.Slightly recessed switch evades significant percentage of wandering household/office toes."Surge Protection is Working" LED is a Good Thing to heed.Another wart-friendly plug instead of the 7th outlet would improve safety and practicality.While the cord feels heavy-duty, it could be more pliable.The bundled childproof caps should be recyclable - otherwise, they'll just clutter up the kids' landfill.Price is pretty nice.

I bought two of these for my gig bag and another for my PA gear bag. They are light weight, they don't take up much room, they come in black so they aren't an eye sore on stage, they have an electricity quality LED that indicates good and poor power quality. They have been in use for a year and have performed without fail. I am an AV guy for my day job, the company that I work at has used APC power strips for as long as I can remember. Some of the power strips have been constant use for over 10 years and have not needed replacement.I recommend this product.

I haven't had this product long but it seems sturdy and I like that it comes with outlet covers to hide the outlets not in use on the power strip. The only drawback is that the wire is stif and makes it hard to move around and position where I want it, but maybe that will loosen up over time.
