Pros: Comes with an additional USB cable to provide power in case the Mini HDMI /VGA connection requires more juice then the is otherwise available. This seems to be a good idea. The item works for me in most settings that only have VGA displays (classrooms mostly). My laptop only has Mini HDMI output.Cons: Once connected, even slight movement causes a momentary disconnection. Most systems simply come back on their own. I think there is a "loose connection"somewhere, even after I tighten the Mini HDMI and VGA connections. I am not sure if other adapters would be better or worse here.

I had an older monitor that I wanted to connect to my laptop. Since it’s a much newer laptop it didn’t have the vga port. This fixed that issue and now I have a dual monitor system.

I purchased this to connect my HDMI laptop output from a Lenovo Twist to an older VGA projector. I first tested this out on a flat screen monitor that has both HDMI and VGA inputs and even after adding USB power the display continued refreshing and couldn't get a solid connection. But it worked fantastic with the projector. It was truly plug and play--didn't have to adjust a thing on either the monitor or projector. Did not have to use the USB power either, but it's nice to know it's there if needed.

I used the mini-HDMI cable to connect my new Lenovo ThinkPad Yoga (1920 x 1080 display) to my older AOC 917W 19" LCD flat screen (1440 x 900). The result was picture perfect with zero setup or configuration - it worked from the first moment I attached the cable. There's absolutely no loss of quality, no distortion, no funny colors, nothing at all different from when I had the same LCD panel connected to my older laptop via the standard VGA connection. I though I might have to buy a new monitor for my new laptop that only has mini-HDMI video but instead for $20 I can continue to use the monitor I already have.

I recently received an Ultrabook that used the mini HDMI out for video out. Since I was planning on using this system for presentations, I immediately looked around for a good mini HDMI to VGA cable. I came across this one and the reviews looked good so I purchased it. It was much cheaper than the competition, but the results don't show it. This cable functions perfectly. In fact, I'm not sure what else to say but that it works without fail and it appears to be of high quality. I have already used it in a presentation and I was not let down. It worked as intended.

It does what I need it to do, but I wish it were more reliable. If I unplug my PC from the wall to move it or set it up elsewhere, it seems that it takes multiple reboots to get this thing to function so that my monitor is recognized by my display adapter. I use it for a secondary monitor. It's still holding up so far, though. :^)

Would work on my computer only after messing with the display settings constantly and/or restarting projector or computer. I don't believe the fault is entirely the adapter. It seems certain computer and projectors do not play well with convertors. I have a Lenovo yoga 2 pro and Epson projector. Like I said, it will work only after making adjustments upon every time the adapter was used. I gave the adapter to my assistant at work and it works well on his yoga 1 with the same projector. Go figure. Seems to be somewhat of a crap shoot whether it will work or not.I ended up buying a new HDMI projector. An expensive option but now I don't have to spend 10-15 minutes prior to a presentation messing with the adapter and hoping it will work.Lastly, for all future reviewers I think it would help a great deal to post what computer and display you are using. This should help people figure out if it may work for them or not.

DG-D10IW3からプロジェクターへの出力（DSUB用）に購入。公民館常設天吊りのプロジェクターで天井裏経由でDSUBケーブルしか使用できない状況で使用しています。毎回椅子に乗ってHDMIケーブルをプロジェクターに差したり、終わったら外したりするのは面倒なので、若干不安はあったのですがこの商品を購入しました。USB給電ケーブル付きですが、上記タブレットでは給電未接続で問題なく投影できました。画質も問題ありませんでした。

Windowsタブレットで使用しましたが、認識しませんでした。
