Low dust, package opens cleanly, I think this is the one
Ages ago, my well meaning spouse bought a bag of perlite the size of a human child and I faithfully used every bit of it over the years. I am FINALLY out of it and can buy whatever perlite I want, so I'm trying every brand available.I've still got some left to try, but as I mixed this in to a batch I thought it might be "the one". I tore off the top of the bag and it just came off cleanly, a simple ZIP! and the bag was open. I know that doesn't seem like a big deal but when your hands are covered in stuff and you have to fight with a bag of perlite, it doesn't make you feel warmly about it. This was a relief. But next! The best! Part! I started carefully, oh so carefully, pouring it into my mix. The first pour, some dust came up but it wasn't too bad. Then, no dust came out as I continued. I confess, I poured the whole bag into the mix. Partially because it was that big of a mix but also because I was fixated on how no dust was coming out and I am so used to HUGE, room-covering dust plumes from perlite (and not just from the child sized bag, but other brands I've been trying) that REQUIRE I wear a mask and vacuum immediately afterwards even if I'm super careful. I got every last bit out of the bag and started mixing and still no dust.I'm a huge fan of this. I'm going to order more to see if this is consistent, but so far I'm really thrilled with it. It made things so much easier. I don't have the energy to rinse perlite, it's an unreasonable mess. I'm really thrilled to have honestly clean perlite now.

Nice product
This worked well to lighten up some soil for new plants in Grow Bags. Espoma is a good brand and I use some of their fertilizers. But this was pricey for perlite, imho. Finally got to a big box store today and got the same size bag, another brand but also organic, and it was 1/3 the price.

Quality perlite.
Good quality perlite. Just as described and pictured. Mixing it with my cactus soil and it’s working out just as it should. Fast shipping. Highly recommend.

Plants are still thriving
This was my first time using perlite in the garden, and it was…an experience. Every time I added a handful, there was this white cloud of powder that caught me off guard. A bit displeasing, but not a dealbreaker. I’m still not sure how much it’s helping yet, but overall seems fine!

Great For Making Lighter Soil Mixes
What perlite does is stated right on the front of the bag: for "improving heavy soils."Let's say you have regular potting soil, but need cactus soil. You don't need to buy separate cactus soil because you can add some perlite to the mix in a 50/50 ratio, and it's now cactus soil. That's what improving heavy soils means, lightening and airing it up so water can flow through easily. The ratio of how you mix it depends on the needs of your plants. Do your research and give your plants the proper growing environment.Perlite is a white, lightweight, and typically formed by the hydration of obsidian (Dragonglass. Game of Thrones reference). Be careful when digging it out of the bag as it can easily blow around and out of the bag. You also want to be careful in not breathing in any crushed dust particles. This is a great product to improve existing potting soil you may have, or to create your own custom mix. Recommended.

Need this for good drainage.
I work a lot with succulents and cactus plants. I tend to make lots of cuttings from stem and leaf cuttings. It'is important that they have a good environment to root in. I use the Perlite along with cactus soil and sand for the cactus cuttings and I use the Perlite with cactus soil and peat moss for for the succulents. I also will combine the Perlite with vermiculite for seed starting for my garden. It helps to have good drainage for the plants, cuttings and seeds, especially cacti and succulents. It's good stuff and my plants do very well.
