Works great!
I love it! I use this primarily for pan head stainless steel screws on my airplane which are hard to access. Price is great, works great, construction seems solid. A must have tool!

Works well for starting wood screws
I was installing a bunch of brackets attached with flat-head wood screws. Many of the screws were at the bottom of a channel. The screwdriver worked really well holding the screw and allowing me to get the screw stated. What's handy with this driver, different from others I own, is you can apply "down" force on the screwdriver to get the wood screw started and the holding mechanism maintains a good grip. I have some other holders that depend on a slot pivot to hold the Philips. As soon as you put downward force, the screw pops out. They work OK for getting threaded screws started but not for getting a wood screw started. The objection of some reviews is that this holder will not release once the screw is tightened. This is true. Once the screw is started, you need to disengage this tool while there is still room between the head and surface, and finish tightening with a standard screwdriver. Additionally, you need some room to the side of the screw to remove this tool. If your screw was in a tight space confined on all sides, this tool would not work. Even considering these constraints, this tool is a welcome addition to my screwdriver selection. I just spent two days starting over a hundred wood screws and I was really pleased with how it worked. Hope this helps, Ron

Perfect
I'm 82 and my grandfather gave me something like this when I was a child, but for slot head screws. I still have it. I expect my great grand children to have similar recollections in 2098. Thank you.

Well made high quality steel screwdriver
I have needed this device for years and never knew about its existence. I use it to get the retaining screws out of my woodstove pipe. That is between the wall and a tile covering. It holds the self tapping screws very tightly. Whether I am inserting them or removing them. Before I got this device. I used to drop a lot of the screws behind the wall. Never to be seen again. I love this device. I just wish it was an Inch or two longer, but it will do for my work.

Quality is not what the BRAND NAME suggests.
I ordered a #1 Philips screw starter because the # 2 Phillips starter plastic holder was too big in diameter for some of the slots that my screws had to go through. The #1 starter will work to only start the screw, then I'll switch to a regular # 2 Phillips screw driver. My #1 and #2 are brand names, but the screw holders are plastic and if you were to tighten the screws to proper torque, the plastic could break. Both are made in China, not that that is bad, but you should only use them JUST to start the screws.
