My toddler is afraid of the dark. I needed to add light to a hallway with no outlets. These are made of actual wax. They are not plastic. They got really hot in my metal mailbox and I could form them if I needed. They were not damage though. They look so nice on the shelf and create a warm glo without being to harsh. My only disappointment is that since I use them every night all night, batteries only last about 2 weeks. However if you want them for occasional use, mood lighting every few nights or so, decor for holiday or table arrangements, they are perfect.The remote has an on and off button. That's all. Super simple.

I didn’t realize when I ordered these that they were supposed to come with a remote. No remote. Don’t really care, & since I didn’t find out until after the fact, I guess it doesn’t matter. For the price I was just happy to get the two candles. After my ex-wife & I split up 17 years ago, I often would burn a candle at night when I went to bed. I don’t like complete darkness, but I don’t like nightlights either. I liked the comfort it provided kind of like a crackling fireplace does. Anyway, I’ve always had sinus problems. I quit smoking a year ago & have noticed I still wake up coughing up black phlegm. Last week I bought a new candle(in 17 years I must have gone through hundreds!) & I burned it when I went to bed. The next morning I woke up & my throat & nostrils were full of soot! The candle was on the other side of the room even! I googled the harms of scented candles & found out they are dangerous & can cause respiratory problems! So I ordered these, & they are doing the job nicely. It’s not as bright as the real candles were, & that “flickering” effect is barely noticeable, but it’s still fairly realistic & still provides the comforting flamelike light that I like to go to sleep to. Not sure how long the battery life is, I’ve only used them a couple of nights, leaving it on all night & it’s still going. Once again it did not come with a remote, but I don’t need it anyway. Recently received these flameless candles quickly (within a few days) from Amazon. Originally purchased these to use at an upcoming wedding, and they will work perfectly for this occasion! Also looking forward to having them around the house after the wedding festivities are finished. Simply put, these are beautiful candles! The exterior feels like real wax and the amber glow with flicker makes it look so realistic. Also think this is a good height for a candle - others were 4" or 6" but I really think the 5" height is perfect (we are putting ours inside of a lantern). Love that they are battery operated (also recommend buying batteries on Amazon as they are quite reasonably priced). But perhaps the even better part is the candles can be turned on/off from the remote control - and best part is, one remote will control all the candles (I have 8 in total, but considering buying more). And you absolutely cannot beat the price - considerably cheaper than other comparable candles. I am very pleased with this purchase and would definitely recommend this product to anyone considering!

These flameless are made of real wax. They are very real-looking candles, and I highly recommend them.

These two use between then 6 AAA batteries not cheap! The light is weird like a layered trifle ie dark, light, dull. Kinda look OK but no more than that and way way too dear.

Firstly, I hate writing bad reviews. But. Within two weeks of the candles arriving one was not working and the other died within 3 months. I put brand new Duracell batteries in both candles and remote control to start and replaced them all when the candles stopped working. It made no difference at all. Please don't buy.
