This is a great tool for becoming more intentional and getting in the habit of writing...
This book is a great gift--to yourself or someone else. As a grad student and a person suffering from depression, I find it challenging to deal with some of the day to day stresses since I have trouble seeing the bigger picture at times and become overwhelmed. This journal is absolutely amazing for being so simple.I believe another reviewer called this a "Low pressure" journal and I love that description. It's accurate. The cover is beautiful, and I am one of those people who love lists and planners, so this is the perfect journal. Seal provides just enough structure for you to make the prompts your own and you can write as much or as little as you want. I find that sitting down and writing my list each week is something I look forward to.More importantly, after each list there is an "action item." I truly think that this is one of the journal's biggest strengths. By focusing on the positives I am learning to cope with my stress and become more self aware. Obviously depression cannot be treated with this journal alone but I have made more progress with this journal than with a month of therapy.

Cool Concept
This is a cool concept. Sure, anyone can pull out pen and paper to create a list. However, this book has everything packed together in not only a guided, more structured method but also in cute style. The book is well made (hardcover) with appealing backgrounds and font. It contains fun, light-hearted lists (i.e. name your favorite characters in book/movie...) to more thought provoking ones (i.e. what are your goals and dreams for the year...). There is no 1.2.3 type listing either so you have the flexibility to create a list in numeric style or paragraph form, whichever you prefer. Each week you create a list, following in order, by season, or random. There are also a couple of sentences in each section to help push you forward in beginning to achieve an item on your list for the week.Truthfully, I debating on purchasing this for awhile and decided against it until I leafed through one at a local store. The value here makes it that much more appealing as it is $7-$10 more if bought in a bookstore or other outlet.

Worth the buy
I like this journal because it is a cute and quick way to sit with yourself for a 5minutes each day. Its not the most thought provoking journal but it does make you think where you don't get overwhelmed. The simplicity of making lists is what I love most but they are lists of things to accomplish, release or become so you can still refer back at a later time to track your progress in relation to the lists of goals you set for yourself.I like it and would recommend.

Rustic, beautiful pages
This really is a fun and beautiful, rustic book. It inspires reflection and self discovery. It's sturdy with clean, crisp, thick pages that have ample space for all of your list items. It feels good in my hands and brings me joy. (Marie Kondo, anyone?)I gave this book 4 stars instead of 5 for three reasons.1. It is subtitled, "A year of weekly journaling inspiration" which is actually a little confusing. It's not really a book of writing prompts since you're making lists, not writing stories. (Though, it's yours so do what you want!)2. I realized that what I like about lists is that feeling of accomplishment when crossing something off of it. These aren't that kind of lists, folks. Nothing to cross off!3. The "take action" at the bottom actually kind of makes me feel stressed out. Not only do I not get to cross anything off of my lists, but now I have all these other things to do AND an entire book that I can't finish for a year. Ridiculous? Probably. But are there others out there like me who feel compelled to finish it in one sitting so they don't have to feel guilty when they realize it's one more thing they never finished? I hope so... so, that being said, I haven't done it a week at a time like it was intended. I usually do 3 or 4 prompts at once. It's fun to think through what I'd do with a million dollars, or the things that make me laugh, or my quirks, or the people that light up my life...The great thing about these kinds of books though is that there aren't any real limits. Do with it as you will, whatever sparks joy!

List Your Life
I ordered ‘The 52 Lists Project: A Year of Weekly Journaling Inspiration’ as a Christmas gift to myself! I was intrigued by the “list” format for journaling and diaries and figured I could at least keep up with a single list every week of the year. After all, I live my life by the many lists I make, on paper and in my head, so lists seem easy compared to journaling on a blank page. I’ve had it for over a month now and although I’ve forgotten a few times to work on my list, I love “losing” myself in the weekly list and just writing whatever pops into my head and try not to overthink the lists. I have a few other “list” type books that are still blank, never opened, but I really liked the challenge of a year’s worth of lists. I like the various topics, some you’d never think about otherwise. I also love the illustrations and typeface used in the book; it’s just such a lovely thing to open and write in. I started mine the first week of the year, but it would also be fine to start it any other time of the year and would therefore make a great birthday or graduation gift for a friend.
