Educational & entertaining for beginners & veterans.
Steve Weber has written another informative and entertaining book about online selling - this time with the focus on new products. The great thing about Steve Weber is that he is a battle-tested seller first and an author second. Reading a Steve Weber book is like taking a class that can save you literally years of trial-and-error. Although geared towards beginners, this book has valuable information for both beginners and veteran sellers.Beginners: Very informative, some step-by-step, many tricks that would take years to figure out on your own. He also includes interviews with successful sellers with different philosophies including one lady who doesn't even use a scanner to find products!Veterans: As a seasoned book seller & FBA seller, I learned some great tips that helped me immediately begin scouting products for resale. I was carrying an Android phone in my pocket for the past year and wasn't even aware of the valuable apps I could use - many free! As far as the reviewer who said that Steve is promoting FBA - I have used FBA the last year or two and Steve isn't promoting it - he is just writing about what method he uses. If you don't want to use FBA, the tips in this book will work with any format including eBay.

Packs a punch!
I stumbled across this book while looking up something entirely different. After reading the excerpt and sample chapter, I decided to go ahead and purchase a copy. The writing style is engaging & the tips given are pretty straightforward & easy to understand. What makes this book worth the asking price are the resources the author cites! I had only heard of a few of them & I've been flipping merchandise for close to 14 years.I look forward to reading more by this author in the future.

Great overview
The first book I purchased on internet reselling was Retail Arbitrage by Christ Green. It's a great book, but one can't help being a little uneasy that the book is primarily a plug for the author's products, including FBAScout, FBAPower, etc. Should I invest in this subscription-based service, or not? What else is out there? I looked a little further, and found this book.I find this book and Retail Arbitrage to be complementary to each other. Retail Arbitrage does plug the FBAPower products, but it gives a superior overview to exactly what is involved in being an Amazon reseller. The book really gives you an insider's view of the different options for selling on Amazon, which is its main focus. This book, Barcode Booty, focuses less on the Amazon FBA program (though it does discuss it), but gives a lot more detail on different technology available to resellers, offering reviews of a number of different apps available for the different needs of resellers. Some are free, some are paid, but you are given the information you need to choose among them.My advice is to buy both books. Between the two, you will be prepared to enter the world of internet reselling.

Great content, but for apps that are no longer available.
This book has some great information. However; many of the example apps covered in this book no longer exist. The point of my purchasing this book was to learn what apps to use and how to use them... Kind of hard when many of the apps covered are no longer available. The book really needs an update to cover current apps (and marketplaces).

Excellent training for new and experienced online re-sellers
This book was very useful in helping me through the initial learning curve as a re-seller. The first read-through was at the start of my online venture, and I retained enough good info to jump-start things without too much difficulty. Steve's writing is clear and simple to understand, and "Barcode Booty" covers most of what I needed to know to get the ball rolling. After several months of "on the job training," consisting of sourcing and selling hundreds of products through Amazon, I went back and re-read Steve's book. This time, a lot of what had flown over my head on the first go-around made sense because I'd been out there doing the work and discovering how things worked for me personally. Now I understand better WHY things work the way they do, and how they work together. Reading this book again answered many questions that I'd developed along the way, and actually served as a training aid at the intermediate level as well.Highly recommended for anyone who's serious about doing well in this business.

Excellent Ideas-Excellent Money making Info Also
Excellent book-very informative-It opes the door to unfamiliar ways to make money with an iphone and a couple of phone apps for finding value on items that can be Sold on Amazon or Ebay.It is a little outdated as far as the apps are concerned, but this can be overcome easily with an advanced Google search on current apps available for scanning something you might want to sell or using an app that identifies the item (even at a garage sale) and enables you to access the value.Mr Burke
