Product is extremely caustic, flammable, toxic, and all-around dangerous. All hardcore cleaning solvents are, so this should not be news. It did a fine job cleaning my brake calipers, both before and after sanding. However, other brands include a straw to attach to the tip for more precise cleaning applications. This one does not.Also, to clean 4 calipers, I really needed a second can. I ran out after about 3. Thankfully, I had an extra partially-empty can from a competitor, which worked fine. It's a good thing to have in your garage, and isn't too expensive, so pick up an extra one with your paint just to be sure.

Great product - cleans very well and dries super-fast..

Used this on my 2012 VW Jetta to help prep for caliper paint. Used it along with the can given in the kit to make sure I was good to go. The smell is incredibly intoxicating, so be sure to crack a window when using it in your garage or just do it outside. Be sure to lay news paper or plastic below the target spray area so as to keep it off the garage or ground as the smell will stick onto whatever surface it lands.

My son insisted on painting his calipers. OK.We used wire brushes and stuff, but I'd say this stuff works well.Could you use something else that would be as effective? Maybe. I figured it was less of a risk to go this route.

Fro the assigned task this product does whet it is supposed to do and comes in a spray can to put it where you want it. But paying more for a can that says Dupli-Color does not get the job done any better / faster. If you need a brake cleaner product, most that I've used are pretty much the same for performance so get a cheap can of whatever from your local autoparts store and you'll do just as well.

Worked well for cleaning the calipers on my 84 Ram D100. I used this before using the Dupli-Color Caliper paint. In conjunction with a wire brush, I was able to get both calipers prepped for paint. I only give four stars because it seems to work just as well as regular brake cleaner from other brands.
