Ahh Shizzz! iPhone 4 in the WJ
So I was thinking to myself about the current state of the WJ (grand cherokee);and was frustrated that Jeep didn't think to add an Aux input on the dash. This product came to my rescue! It is super easy to install everything is plug and play. All I had to do was figure out where to route the cable and where to stuff the little white box. Other wise I can skip through songs in the WJ with the factory head unit. Just need to start the music app on the iPhone 4 before connecting the cable to the bottom. So far it has worked great and the quality of music and usability of my stock radio has now improved. Yes it works with the iPhone 4, charges it, and is realy awesome.

Impressed how well it works.
I'm really impressed with how well this thing works. I can play music from my ipod, or any random thing with a headset jack really. The impressive part, of course, is not just that it can play music but that the controls on your factory stereo can now control the iPod. This I love, and it works well with the mopar stereo. You can easily play, pause, next track, last track, and even fast forward. So why only 4 stars? As a couple people have noted, it has a few minor glitches, but they are minor. Every once in a while it will "skip"... and since the ipod is solid state, I'm not really sure what's causing this. It's pretty rare, so not a huge deal. More often though, my stereo will just start playing the iPod, almost always within a minute or two of starting the car... I think it thinks i just loaded some CDs into the changer or something. Annoying, but not overwhelmingly so, unplug the ipod and it won't happen... and honest when it does, just hit the button to switch back to the radio.Anyway, self install was easy enough, and it works great, much better music in my car now!

Stopped functioning properly after 16 months
Like others I appear to have run into the same issue of the device failing. Apparently it stops putting out a signal and the radio receiver then switches over to FM mode. I emailed customer service and because it's been over a year the only thing they'll do is charge me $75 to fix it or sell me a new unit at 20% below MSRP (which happens to be the price at which I paid for it).No thanks. My advice: try a different brand.

Multiple problems within 11 months - Good Manufacturer support
I purchased and installed the USA Spec PA11-CHR ipod interface in my Jeep Liberty approximately 11 months ago. Easy and straight forward installation. Problem #1: Immediately I found it would only cycle through the first 6 playlists on the ipod.(I simply dealt with it since I finally had an ipod connection...haha). Problem #2: Though the steering wheel controls were functional, the interface would randomly skip playlists and tracks in an unpredictable way when using the wheel controls as well as the dash controls. (Yes the ipod was NOT set to shuffle...also dealt with this since I finally had an ipod connection!) Problem #3: After approximately 8 months the ipod cable began messing up, crackling through the speakers and randomly cutting out 3 speakers. By 11 months the cable had completely cut out the 3 speakers unless I wiggled the wire which would make the speakers again crackle and cut in and out. (Yes I tried 2 different ipods and they both did this and the radio still played flawlessly through all speakers) Point is, the cable went bad.The manufacturer "USA Spec", was very prompt in replying to my emails pertaining to the warranty. In my opinion, they made honest attempts to help my situation without simply giving away products. Since I purchased this kit from Amazon it's not backed by the warranty because the seller is NOT an authorized USA Spec dealer. Let alone I installed it myself. Here's their web page explaining this, obviously unknown prior to purchasing. ([...]) I understand and by no means expect businesses to be held accountable for the uncontrollable actions of others. Though I do feel Amazon should have an "expected warranty" area under such products. This way the seller lists the warranty and is then responsible. USA Spec offered to pay for return shipping to them directly so they could diagnose the problem. If the problem was fixable, I'd be charged up to but not exceeding $75 or I could opt for a 20% discount off a new kit costing me $116. In conclusion, I'm not ready to invest more money in a product which doesn't seem to be fixable. Yes the cable will most likely be replaced, however the interface will most likely have problems with skipping tracks, etc. Thus I'll most likely be purchasing a different integration kit.

It's okay.
I needed this shipped to a different address, to be installed in a car ('02 Jeep Liberty) I flew out to purchase, then drive back. The item arrived just fine, installed alright. However, the operation leaves something to be desired. The unit is prone to shutting off the audio and rebooting at random intervals. I drive 12 miles to work every day, and sometimes it will shut off twice during that period (one day it did it twice within two minutes). When I contacted USA SPEC about this issue, there was a near total lack of interest. Eventually, the "customer service" person waved me off, claiming that the "seller was not an authorized reseller of our product".Alright.Nevermind that the item, and all packaging is clearly USA SPEC's. If it IS a counterfeit, that should be an issue that USA SPEC needs to look at, instead of sticking it to the end-user.Nobody's fooled, here. These things roll out of a sweatshop somewhere deep in China. Markups/margins on these things are incredible. It would have cost USA SPEC next to nothing to simply say "Hey, we'll send you a new one, send us the old one when it arrives..." and maybe do a little research on how it became faulty. You know...what was it they called it in the old days?... "product support", I think it was?In any case, the issue is not with the seller. They did a great job getting it there, on time, and intact. The product, however - and the small, 10-person company in Los Angeles that imports it - leave a lot to be desired.
