Great meter
I’d owned a 680 for over a year and absolutely loved it other than the size. I decided to pick up the 480 because it does most of what the 680 does in a smaller package. I still wish it was as slim as a Fluke but it does so much more for the money. I did notice the leads that came with my 480 aren’t quite the same as the ones that came with my 680. They are a little stiffer silicone. We’ll have to see how they are in cold weather. Still better than what comes with Fluke meters. Overall, I’m very happy with the 480 so far.

2nd best meter on the market!
All the features you could ever need are on this meter. The only issue I have noticed is when testing for LRA (locked rotor amps/inrush) you have to adjust the decimal place for each system you test. If not then, the readings will be wrong. On the SC680 there is no decimal to adjust and I wish this meter was the same. Everything else is great and quick to read.

Horrible warranty
Bought this meter about 18 months ago, and screen went blank fieldpiece won't cover the warranty because I bought it through amazon, I was expecting this Metter to last me atleast few years. Very disappointed at this meter and how fast it stopped working. Upset with fieldpiece specially since all my tools are fieldpiece and spent thousands of dollars on fieldpiece. Fieldpiece warranty and customer service sucks A

Not Reliable
Bought the SC480 and it stopped reading microfarads within 5-6 months. Sent it in for warranty, they sent me back a new one. The new one lost audible tone on that same switch that the other one lost microfarad reading on. Cant test continuity with no sound. This time it went out while trying to use it on a roof in the worst possible time. Sending it back in again under warranty for the second time in less than a year.Bought a Fluke 902 FC and love it. Will not be buying another Fieldpiece meter. While the Fluke may not have all the features the Fieldpiece does, it does feel more sturdy, reads faster, is easier to use on the fly and I know it will stand the test of time. I have two other Flukes that have been work horses and never an issue. I use their temp meter Fluke 52 for very accurate temp readings and then I have a basic 115 that I had to buy a long time ago because my Fieldpiece at the time would only read up to 350 microfarads so I couldn't even test the cap I was troubleshooting. The universe was telling then I needed to ditch Fieldpiece meters!Disclaimer: I do still use Fieldpiece smart gauges, vacuum pump and reclaim machine. Honestly though, the manifold on my SMAN gauges broke and I can't even hang it. That's a known issue as well apparently.
