MXL BCD-1 Dynamic MicrophoneThe MXL BCD-1 is an end-address dynamic microphone designed to be aimed in line to your mouth when speak. It perfectly captures the nuances of your voice thanks to its cardioid polar pattern. BCD-1 also ensures to reject sound pick up on the sides of the mic capsule. Its integrated suspension mount minimizes the pickup of vibration noise passed via a microphone stand.TECHNICAL SPECS:Mic Capsule: DynamicPolar Pattern: CardioidSound Field: MonoFrequency Response: 40Hz-15kHzImpedance: 600 OhmSensitivity: -54dB re 1V/PaDimensions: 6.2 x 2.0"Weight: 1.25 lbAccessories: WS-002 Mic WindscreenAlso Comes With:Blucoil Boom Arm Plus Pop FilterThe Blucoil Boom Arm Pop Filter is designed to free your hands from always holding your microphone during studio recordings, podcasts, or live performances. The 30" long mic boom arm accommodates all kinds of microphones and shock mounts (3/8" to 5/8" threading adapter and microphone clip are included). It is made of heavy-duty steel and zinc alloyed parts. You can adjust the boom mic 360-degrees. The foldable boom arm comes with a removable Blucoil Pop Filter. The 2-layer mesh blocks the air blasted from the user's mouth and disperses any remaining air pressure. It effectively reduces hisses and environmental noise caused by plosive sounds. NOTE: Install the boom arm vertically for it to hold up the weight of a 3.3lb microphone.Blucoil 10-FT Balanced XLR CableThe 10-foot Blucoil cable interconnects your microphone to an audio interface, mixer, or preamp. It is made with premium Male-to-Female Neutrik-equivalent Zinc Alloy connectors that are protected with a high-density PVC jacket. The 92% shielding protects your audio signal from EMI and RFI. The OFC wire ensures that the best possible conductivity is provided. The Blucoil Balanced XLR Cable also avoids unwanted lost signals or degeneration.

“You sound like you’re on the radio.”
I am using this on my Zoom calls, meetings, YouTube, etc. I use it because I have a ‘studio’ (desk) set up in my garage. I have 6 boys doing school-at-home and have a lot of meetings on Zoom at this time. People listening don’t hear the background noise ... my boys or even the neighbor using the weed-trimmer 20 feet from my house! On my last call, someone messaged me after and said, “Seriously, you sound like you were in a radio studio. Very full, deep sound. But very clear.”So glad I didn’t spend the extra $350 on other recommended mics.

This is NOT as good as the RE320
This is a fantastic little kit for beginners or podcasters. If you want a professional broadcast microphone, get the RE320 or the RE20.First, the microphone, which delivers rich, clean audio. I plugged the RE320 in side by side with this microphone, and I felt I got as good slightly more rich sound from the RE320. This is a very solid mic, though. And if you're just playing around, you may not notice much difference between the two mics (MXL BCD-1 vs. RE320).I hated how the P's "popped" on this microphone, and I eventually am returning them and buying RE320s. These mics are just not in the same league. After searching around for the best price, I determined Amazon’s $150 price for this kit was best, as most outlets have the mic, alone, for $150.The windscreen is nice. I hate the version you clip on to your mic, but that’s personal preference. These mics are like mini RE20 or RE320 with lesser quality.Compared to the RE320:Frequency Response:MXL: 40 Hz-15kHzRE320: 30 Hz-18kHzRE20: 45Hz-18kHzOutput Impedance:MXL: 600 ohmsRE20 and RE320: 150 ohmsWeight: 1.25 (MXL) vs. 1.5 (RE320) vs. 1.62 (RE20)These are high impedance mics. They are not considered professional quality. And they aren’t.The mic arm is junk and has limited function. I used some of the parts but tossed them aside and bought different stands. The XLR cables are solid. The mic screen is so-so (you're still going to "pop" your Ps).If this was at all helpful, please hit the button.

2 out of 3 ain’t bad
Using this to broadcast via Mixlr. The mic, shield, and arm came together. The arm is the biggest disappointment. Small, lightweight, and not nearly strong enough to use as indicated. Had to use my own mic stand that happened to have the same threads. If I could return the arm itself, I would. The mic and shield are fine.

More expensive for black???
Disappointing sound quality for it’s price and similar competitors of more well-known models and brands. Particularly annoyed to find out $50 more for it just being black; color did not matter to me. Returned and opted for better quality microphone.

Price and reliability
This mic is used nationally by studio broadcasters and is an easy fit for most interfaces. The bundle option makes the cost cheaper than buying the kit piece-by-piece.
