Vintiquewise(TM Decorative Wood Leather Treasure Box (Small Trunk Only)

Bought to house an emu egg gift for my grandson. Fits very nicely.

This is a beautiful , small keepsake holder. Not sure where the "large" trunk came from. Nice leather-look, but wont hold much. Smaller than a shoe box!

I gave this to my little step-grandson at his 3rd birthday party, unwrapped, with consumables tucked inside (play dough/tools, crayons, stickers, markers, cards, etc) and I painted his name on the back in white acrylic paint. We called it his "Treasure Box". He loved it! All his other family members - aunts, uncles, and all the real grandparents gave him the usual toys and games, many great, but once all the gifts were opened & looked at - the first thing he wanted back was his Treasure Box! It was a hit! The rest of the family complimented me for the creativity with this kind of a gift & felt a pirate's eye patch & such would have been another great addition inside.Quality wise, I needed to first hammer down a few exposed staples which had a potential for poking little fingers. The thin "ply board" back material was a little warped, and I suspect if a 3 year threw it around then it might not hold up. The latches and closing straps were fun and the over all look is rich and rustic with a great size - not too small and not to big. It was perfect for what it cost & what I wanted it for.

This box is super cute, and I love that you can lock it! I bought it to keep a couple adult toys safe, and it's just the right size for that kind of stuff. My only problem with it is that the stain on the wood can rub off, and it stained a sponge that was packed next to it while I was moving. Not the end of the world, but something to be careful of. I love the aesthetic of this little treasure chest! I wouldn't recommend using this for jewelry unless you also buy some kind of dividers/organizers, as the inside is completely empty.

this is a great little box to hold things it defiantly is a quality piece.The wood is a nice 1/2 inch thick and very sturdy, now it is not indestructible mind you, but it will hold up to modest punishment, the leather they used is of good quality to, no complaints there but sadly when I received it in the mail it was cold and I tried to straighten the handle out and it cracked the leather, not completely of though. I do not know if it was the cold or being folded the way it was. So I would suggest the the sellers to put a brief case handle on this piece to make sure this dose not happen. or find a better way of collapsing the handle. but to anyone buying this box please be aware of this and take steps not to have this happen to you.Other wise is a good little box

These little chests are very nice to look at. I wanted a 'treasure chest' for my Grandson for Christmas, and when I came accross this cute pair, I had to have them. The bigger one is MINE!! I haven't decided what to use it for yet, but that will come. My Grandson has always had a 'treasure chest' at my house to put his money and little treasures like dried-up bugs and feathers, pretty stones and things that he doesn't want his Sister to touch. This little chest is going to make him VERY happy. The quality of the item is not the best, but it seems sturdy enough. If it's treated gently, I'm sure it will last for years. It's NOT 'leather'...It's some sort of vinyl material, but it looks like leather.The quality of the wood is inferior and may be prone to warp in high humidity. All said and done: I am very happy with my purchase, and wouldn't dream of returning them or wishing I hadn't bought them in the first place....They're just TOO cool for words!!

I got this treasure chest for my 4 year old son for his birthday and he was so stoked! I wrapped a treasure map and hid the chest. When he opened the present and the map he had to go find the chest and the "treasure" we put inside. Chocolate coins are a winner plus I got an amethyst and some other crystals and he was very happy. He's since added other items and plays with it all the time. The handle on top is great and it is perfect size for a little boy. The quality is great. It seems to be sturdy and well made and the inside is lined. It's been about 4 months and there's been zero damage. The leather is a nice touch with real wood makes it feel like a really special item. For the price this is a steal. Super happy!

(This review is for the large 10x7x7" chest). Neat little chest. I was looking for something with a vintage Edwardian appearance to keep my tinned pipe tobacco and other sundries like a polishing cloth, pipe cleaners, etc. Anyway, it's the perfect size to hold about six round tins and a couple of Peterson boxes filled with pipe maintenance bric-a-brac. The box itself will most definitely not be up to rough handling. It is constructed of lightweight wood laminate similar to that found in a shallow half bushel produce basket. Good enough for what I need but clearly not very utilitarian. The wood has been well stained, stapled, and glued. Faux leather has been overlaid, glued, and tacked. The stamped parts, rivets, buckles, hinges, and latch appear as faux aged brass. Overall, this fit the bill nicely for what I wanted as I won't be in and out of it constantly. If you're expecting to use it regularly, you might want something more substantial. Oh yeah, Decorative Gifts was the seller and they shipped fast. No problems with these guys and they're backed up by Amazon.

Love them. Work really well. Great for the price.

Beautiful vintage looking suitcase

I was a bit wary about ordering this chest but I was very pleased with it, for the money it’s not cheaply made hinges and clasp to the from are quite robust, leather look finish looks good too, perfect for my 6 yr old grandson this Christmas, going to fill it will gems, crystals and a small skull and pirate map and other bits he’s going to love it. And get a lock and key for the front clasp.

VERY POOR QUALITY. DOES NOT FASTEN PROPERLY EVEN WITH A FEW PAPERS INSIDE. ABSOLUTE GARBAGE

This is the best decorative leather treasure box i’ve ever bought. I put some ‘treasure’ inside it and buried it in my garden. A week later my 4 year old son used a treasure map drawn in crayon to find it. It lasted a week in the ground with some rain and a small boy tapping at it with a plastic spade and it still looks great.Strongly recommend for keeping small children entertained.
