It fits a 20 inch cartridge and is well made!
This is my first purchase here. I have a Rainsoft water softener and osmosis system. The first filter for water coming in from my well is the 20 inch cartridge. I usually change it monthly, depending on the mood of the well and how much rust/gunk it sends in. Well, I am one of a handful of customers that use this “yarn filter”, as I call it, so my Rainsoft distributor asked if I still want it or would switch to the other kind, as they have to put in a pretty big order to get it and then they have these sitting in their warehouse. I replied that I do not care for the “smooth ones”, as I call them, so I decided to check on Amazon if they were available here. They are and my Rainsoft rep said they should fit. They fit well and do the job, so I am very happy! I can change them as I choose, and no longer try to soak them to reuse them in fear of running out. ONE thing I will say: When new filter is put in, directions are to hand tighten cartridge- WEll, I had to use the wrench just a bit to tighten, as it leaked at first. But now I know, and you do too! For rust in well water, I wouldn’t trade these for anything. I have been using these since 1986!

They filter the water extremely well....
They filter the water extremely well. I was very surprised what was in our drinking and cooking water. Glad were not consuming that contamination. This is my 2nd order of this 6 pack. It's a really good price and made well. They have food grade plastic collars in the cores, at each end, so the ends don't fray or become unraveled. I use this in my Gordon's water system filter cylinder and it fits perfectly.
