Making sure buld and tubes do not get water in them
Everyone who is having issues with bulbs failing too soon. Smell the bulb when you take it out, does it smell burnt or can you see oxidation around the top contact, this may be that a small amount of water has been vaporized or leaked into the tube and the buld shorted out. Use clear silicone aquarium sealant to seal the plastic reservoir and the o ring washer that contacts it. I also put sealant on the top o ring
