Hi the Gun Budd is an awesome light that work on any spray gun and if you paint for a living or just paint car's you will love it

Do the overspray of the paints or clear damage the light?

Yes, use some clear cellophane (sandwich wrap) over the light. Just as your gun gets some overspray this will also, being plastic, it cannot be removed without damaging the light. Easy to cover with cellophane!

If anyone can tell me how it does on bottom cup guns i would appreciate it. i spray w large pps bottom cup. thanks in advance

I’m certain it would work fine as the unit has an elastic adjustable band. You will have to skip it on upside down so you can angle the light slightly up to your spray pattern. But it should work well. Bear in mind that if you have a lot of overspray and poor air movement, no light will be strong enough to see very well thru the overspray.
