We went through three of them and two didn't work at all, while one worked at first and then stopped working in the middle of using it. I don't know if the problem is that they aren't compatible with MacBook Airs or what. i had an older version of this mic that lasted for years and worked wonderfully, but after 8 years of use the USB port seemed to stop working. I ordered two initially - one for the other person on my podcast - and only one of them showed up in the sound window of the system preferences. The other one worked initially, but on second trial today stopped working. The replacement we bought also could not be read by the Macbook. We have another microphone that works fine on both our laptops so we know our laptops aren't the issue. Luckily Amazon issued a refund for the one that expired three days after the window of return closed. It's sad because these had always been known to be great, cost effective mics with good sound quality. The new versions are very cheap looking compared to my older one.

I bought this USB Microphone for an online DJ Setup on my laptop. I initially used the microphone I used with my mobile DJ setup in the 1990’s with a 6.5 to 3.5 mm adapter and the sound was terrible through the laptop. This USB Microphone plugs into the USB Port on my laptop and delivers crystal clear sound for voiceovers and speaking through the system. I’m very happy I purchased this microphone. Great recording microphone for any phone. Has a low impedance output for house sound and a digital out for phone or computer. My wife is a choir director and we make recording for the choirs to learn their songs. For years we used the phone mike it made adequate recordings, then we bought a popular mike (that looks like a SM7) and we were surprise how much the recordings improved today we recorded with the Audio-Technica ATR2100x-USB Cardioid Dynamic Microphone with USB and XLR Outputs and we were really impressed. Really clear fidelity a mile apart from our prior microphone. It's a keeper. More good things: - it includes an XLR cable, has a real on and off switch, and has two USB cables one to a phone and for a computer. I did not need to buy any adapters. The microphone comes with a stand that sort of works. Yes it holds up the mike if the mike is balanced right. But I am really happy with the fidelity of the microphone. The build quality of the mike is also impressive seems to be all metal - looks similar to a SM58. Wow.
