Knape & Vogt RS-PSW10-1-29-R-P In-Cabinet Soft Close Pull Out Trash Can,18.80 H x 9.3 W x 19-Inch L, Platinum

I have a small studio above my garage that I rent out to traveling professionals. There is one small cabinet that was generally unused, approximately 10 inches wide. I measured twice, but it was off by less than a quarter of an inch and could not fit. Instead, I installed it under the sink cabinet. It was not my first choice, but it was installed easily, pulled out easily, and felt sturdy. Once the lease term is up, I'll know if it worked as expected.

This was easy to install and made my cabinet with a garbage can very functional. The only problem is the garbage can that was supplied is not big enough so I had to replace it finding a larger size from Ace Hardware.

The media could not be loaded. Yay, trash can is included!!!I searched the internet for days looking for a specific configuration of 2 side by side trash cans (see photo); but unfortunately, I couldn't find one. I found numerous options with 2 trash cans configured as one in front of the other, but that is NOT what I needed.My cabinet is only 20" wide, which severely limited my single slide out trash can options, however; I was able to create exactly what I wanted by installing 2 of these side by side in my cabinet. My cabinet was also a two door cabinet, instead of a 1 door cabinet, but I resolved that problem by using acrylic rectangles as flat brackets to secure the doors together, creating one door (see photos.)I had to order 2 of this Door Mount Bracket for Bottom Mount Slide Out Waste Bins, because I wanted a "single" door that I could open with the pull of a handle or a pull of my foot. In hindsight, I probably should have ordered a white foot pull, but I might remove it and just spray it white.I also found that this dual side by side trash can configuration left a void of wasted storage space behind the trash cans, so I ordered these Adjustable Height Support Legs and placed a box on them to create a couple of makeshift shelves. I my eventually install wood shelves, but for now it works just fine.This was a fairly expensive project, but it includes all hardware mentioned above AND…I got the EXACT pull out trash can configuration I wanted, with the cans side by side. It seems like a good idea. I ordered it when I moved to a new place and needed something that fit well. Then waited and patiently saved up the money to hire someone to install it, then getting on their schedule too during summer was impossible, took many months until finally this fall it was all ready. Finally get it installed, it's missing one of the plastic bits that hold it onto the track. There's supposed to be 2, only one came. Without it, the can isn't stable and glide forward and back, it topples instead and makes you need 3 arms. So I call the company, and get ignored. For months. Now I spent the cost of the system, and the install, for nothing. Worst purchase of the entire year, easily.

This product fit exactly as described in my cabinet. It was simple to install however I have had to replace the screws a few times (and eventually used larger and longer screws) as the weight of the can when filled and pulled out of the cabinet puts too much stress on the back of the rails.

This trash can is a quality product. My only complaint is that there isn’t a lid available.

*Update* called customer service twice…their very nice message says to leave a detailed message and they will call back. They did not, so I emailed , they emailed me back promptly and said parts would be mailed and would not need to remove the installed rails. Waiting for parts. *So very excited to find a pullout trash bin that would fit under my deep sink. At $97…not inexpensive. Promptly arrived…within a week. Assembly instructions are clear and installation is easy peasy…if your parts aren’t faulty and you have all of the parts. I am missing one ‘cage locking clip’ and the right side of the ‘cage’ (the part that holds the trash bin) will not engage into the right side of the sliding base assembly. See photos. Directions say to push down firmly on the right side of the cage into the clips…no way. As I was assembling after working hours, 6 pm ish, customer service could not assist me as their hours go until 5 pm eastern time. I left a detailed message as instructed and also sent a detailed email to the customer service address on their website. Do I think they’ll make it right? I’m 98% sure they will. But for now, I need to wait for a part and most probably remove the sliding base assembly that I already installed from the cabinet to put in the replacement I hope they will promptly send. Quality issues just make me crazy.

I purchased this to replace a 20+ year old unit that had become impossible to slide in and out due to 5 children over its life that would push down on the trash while it was extended outside the cabinet. That behavior, over time, bent the frame. This unit is much stronger and heavier to withstand that stress, although those 5 children are now adults and out of the household so it won’t be an issue or problem this time. Very easy to install and very pleased with the purchase.
