Stroopwafels - 20 Dutch Verweij 100% Butter Stroopwafels In Frustration Free Packaging

Saw an episode of “The Great British Baking Show” and they had the contestants try to make strop waffles. It intrigued me, and did a search on them. Found out I could order them on Amazon, so I did just that. Although they weren’t as crisp on the show the flavor was outstanding. They really nailed the caramel. Good buy, but if you’re not into sweet things for breakfast you might not want to buy these. If you are into carbs in the morning then you’re in for a treat. Worth the money!

My family took a river cruise from Amsterdam to Basel last month We discovered stroopwafels in the Netherlands. I placed two orders (2 stacks in a pkg.), one package for me and one for my parents. They did not disappoint us! These are great served cold with ice cream. But my favorite way to eat them is to put one on top of a mug of hot coffee (20 -30 seconds each side) and to eat them warm and gooey with the caramel melted!

The first thing that struck me when I first tasted these stroopwafels is the subtle buttery flavor. They are really very good. I've found my favorite brand!

I ordered these because we recently were on a trip and the flight we were on offered them (individually wrapped) as a snack. They were delicious!! So I ordered them online -- exact same brand. They are very tasty but they do not seem as soft and fresh as the ones we had on our flights. I tried to find an expiration date which looks like they "might" have expired a year ago (3/2019) but I really can not be sure I'm reading the tag correctly. They are still soft and carmelly if they are placed over a mug of steaming hot tea....but I just feel they weren't fresh.

These thin caramel filled wafers are good however from my reading about them I thought they would be crispy like the wafers we purchase in the US. So I don't know if they're suppose to be crispy or not but nevertheless I like them, they're different.

Must place one on your mug above your hot cocoa or coffee like the Dutch do, you won't regret the melty caramel waiting for you inside. There are plenty to go around & be shared with others if you want to or you can hoard them like a dragon in a cave if that suits you! I'd buy again, especially around the holidays or cold weather.

My son craves the Stroopwaffles. He would think nothing of booking a flight just to have one, if he had unlimited cash. Fortunately, he doesn't have to, he has Amazon and A mom who likes to surprise him with small gifts :) The packaging is perfect, the wafels were fresh and tasty. You sit one over your coffee mug and it softens or you can coffee dip if you like. YUM!

Yummy, yummy, yummy ! Knew these cookies from the Netherlands. Just the picture made me nostalgic. But now we can get them from Amazon! So delicious.And they make great gifts too. We enjoy them most with a cup of hot tea in the afternoon. Now I want one..
