Avoid Icon Fitness Products like This
Please avoid this Elliptical. We've had it now for 2 years and have had numerous parts replaced and nothing but problems. From the main computer dying to one of the main flywheel iron bars snapping in half due to shoddy welding, this thing is not worth the money AT ALL. The first 6 months we had it, it was great, after that- not so much. The company (Icon Fitness) wants nothing more than to sell you some bs extended warranty.

Great Elliptical!
Nice, quiet, and sturdy elliptical... I was pretty amazed how nice and smooththis machine is. I was very skeptical on receiving this package off of the freighttruck because it was so badly damaged (thankfully everything inside was unharmed). Also make sure you understand that this is being delivered by an 18 wheeler not yourstandard UPS truck. Unless you have your own personal forklift or a loading dock builton to your house you will need a lift gate truck. I ordered it to come by lift gate truck butthe day it was delivered the trailer with the lift gate was broke down and we had to liftit out by hand... Very heavy and awkward! But after all the shipping nightmares, I lovethis elliptical and have used it every day since i finished the easy step by step assembly.(they also provided all the tools needed to assemble) I would easily give this 5 stars, butmy only complaint is i can not get it connected to my WIFI, which is still ok because i do notplan on using the IFit setupSo after a few years of 3 or 4 day a week use, it has broke a 2nd time, this time probably fatally..The first time the bolts that anchor the angle adjustment ramp to the Frame snapped off, whichI fixed myself with a drill, and a set of easy outs, and then put in some new bolts.. The second timethe plastic bearing housings broke on the left side causing the pedal to fall off track mid stride.Ive been looking for replacement parts but have had no luck so far. The bearings feel fine, but theplastic enclosure they are in is shattered.. It might be time to bring it to the dump.

Solid machine, but requires an additional service fee.
So far, so good. We didn't have any trouble like the other review on here.Pros:- Seems sturdy- Quiet- longer strides than on most other models- Takes up the medium range of space. It cannot be folded for storage, but it also isn't as long as some other models.- Convenient difficulty buttons on handles and the main screen.- Ramp can go to a negative incline (downhill)Cons:- Heavy (but sturdy)- There's a bar that gets inserted into the central part of the elliptical, which the handles are fastened to. The part where this bar had to be inserted did not seem straight-- it was very difficult to get the bar in. We had to use a hammer to get it to go in.- Inexplicable clicking at certain points during the rotation. We ended up having to re-center the bar mentioned above.- iFit integration is not free. It turns out that they used to have a free service, but that was discontinued. Most of the workout customization features were integrated with iFit, and thus we are now limited to the most basic features that a $250, non-iFit integrated elliptical would most likely surpass. As of this writing, the iFit account's cheapest option is $99, but I believe that was for a household membership.- Extended service only applies if you integrate with an iFit account and trek so many miles within a certain period. While this is nice, those of us getting back into exercise would never meet those values by ourselves. It was difficult doing a 1/4 mile when first starting, and Epic wants you to do 500 miles in a year to get a telephone walk-through to tune up the machine.- Screws were difficult to install. The bolts were easy, but it seemed like most of the screw holes were not predrilled to the correct size. The frame is about 1/8" thick, so I'm not going to be able to hand tighten a regular screw without making the hole bigger. (We didn't make the holes bigger. We currently have a loose water bottle holder.)- Calorie burn doesn't seem to be calculated on much scientific evidence. I couldn't input age, weight, etc., and I could stop moving for 10 seconds and still see the number of calories burn increase at the same rate as when I was moving. More RPMs didn't seem to increase the count as much as it should, either. Nor did increasing the incline. I'm thinking this was dumbed down because Epic is expecting most users to integrate with iFit, and that service will do all the calculations for them. One other negative experience was the delivery. There was only one, average-sized person delivering this instead of the two we expected. The box was 300 pounds or more. My wife had him leave it in the garage, where she unpacked it and carried the smaller pieces in. I had to help her carry in the heaviest pieces, which was not very easy once it was unpacked from a rectangular box. There are no wheels on the base like some home exercise equipment has.All things considered, we are happy with it. We didn't want a cheap model that would break down in a few years, and this is a solid machine. I am disappointed with how little we get from a tracking perspective, without also having to pay $99 per year for an additional service.

Nice quality, sturdy elliptical
We have had our Epic A30E for 7 years. It’s used 2x a week, I rotate running and walking into my workout and do not use the elliptical exclusively. It’s been a great machine for us, runs smoothly, easy to adjust resistance, etc.

Good workout but won't last forever
Summary: Feels great and gives a good workout but the parts are low quality, particularly the metal frame pieces.I weigh 170lb, so I'm not putting tremendous strain on the unit. I used this unit for about 4 years, about 3 days a week average for 40 minutes. That is about the lifespan of the unit, because I've had numerous service requests that were covered under the protection plan, and have replaced a lot of parts myself when that expired. Some of the things that have broken:- The motor for the breaks. Replaced by technician under warranty.- A cast-iron part of the frame developed a crack. Replaced by technician under warranty.- A cast-iron part of the foot pedal frame developed a crack in the metal. Replaced myself with new part.- Resistance control button. Bad wiring or something. Swapped them with the incline one.- Cast-iron center support developed a crack in the metal. This is what finally "killed" the unit. Over $250 for the part and a lot of work to replace it myself... I would have to completely dis-assemble.All of the screws need tightening every month, or the unit begins to shake/make noise. Can't give it a terrible review because I feel like I got what I paid for.
