I recently purchased a set of cedar rings and balls, and I must say, I am thoroughly impressed. I tried to picture the sizes from the description, and expected to find the balls to be about golf ball size. They are smaller than that. The rings in particular are less thick and smaller diameter than I had picture. But putting a handful of them in my storage container filled with wool fabric instead of just one or two at each end of it, seems to provide more than enough cedar scent to make a difference.You can smell the cedar if you put it right up by your nose, and even upon initially opening the plastic bags they are packed in, but it is not overwhelming in the least, like mothballs are, after they are unpacked and placed where you need them. A slight cedar scent lingers in the air after they are put away, but nothing like an obnoxious "pine" smell that some cleaners have, or the burning and for some, nauseating, smell of mothballs. I did notice a few little "crystals" on some of the rings, as they warn you in the product details, that are sometimes present with real cedar products. These should not stain, and if you are at all worried about it, you can just wipe them off with a clean cloth before putting them with or in wool fabric. I have had them in my fabric bins now for only a couple of weeks, but there is no evidence of more crystals yet, although I can still smell a pleasant cedar smell when I open the bins with around 6 rings in a 25-qt storage bin. I put some of the balls in the pockets of our wool coats in the front closet, and you can not smell them in the closet, unless you move those coats and/or put your hands in the pockets.

I used these in a large walk-in closet and some drawers for moth deterrence. I like that the rings made it easy to spread the cedar around the clothes without having to hide planks or blocks. The cedar smell is fresh and pleasant in the closet and the drawers. Overall very happy.

These arrived in a ripped plastic bag, so the round ones had spilled out. Very poor packaging. But the real issue is that they are tiny! All of the items are much, much smaller than the photos would have you believe. Since there is nothing in the photos to establish scale, don't be surprised by the actual tiny size. Good news is the smell is potent!

I bought these for 2 reasons. First I love the smell of cedar. Second I like the aspect of a natural insect repellent. Two jobs were done for the very reasonable price of one. They have delivered on the smell, and well if I don't see any moths then they succeeded on that front also. For the price point well worth it. It's wood, it's good, you should get some. Now that I wrote that all I can think of is a Ren & Stimp in a cartoon ad.It's log, it's log,It's big, it's heavy, it's wood.It's log, it's log, it's better than bad, it's good.

I should’ve sent them back. They’re very inconvenient. They pop off the hangers. I find them everywhere in the house. They need some work on the quality.

Product was super easy to use and smell was not overpowering. We found a moth in our room but didn't want to use moth balls and have our clothe linger with that chemical smell, this was a really good alternative. The rings for the hangers were a good enough size to not take up too much space in the closet. Definitely would recommend as an alternative to moth balls.
