This is hands-down the best trailer lock I've ever owned. The Model 2178 from Proven Industries is an absolute beast. I couldn’t be more impressed with this trailer lock. From the moment I took it out of the box, it was clear this is a serious piece of hardware. The heft and solid construction give me peace of mind. And the customer support I've received from Proven Industries has been amazing -- despite my best efforts I managed to purchase the wrong size, and the customer support team has been responsive and incredibly helpful! Bottom line: this lock is worth every penny.

The Proven Industries Model 2178 trailer coupler lock is a very well made. The welding, weight, fit, and finish were all top shelf in the example that I received. Although any lock system can be defeated with the correct tools and time, the Proven system is very robust and introduces a level of security not found in many less expensive competitors. This said, the 2" Model 2178 that I ordered through Amazon did not fit my particular application. The locking latch on my 2" hitch is equipped with an external yoke that slides over the ball receiver in the locked position. I contacted Proven Support and learned that they manufacture a Model 2178-A that is designed for my application. Proven Support did not reply to my phone call, and their chat line was initially slow to respond. However, once we made contact through chat, I found them very responsive and helpful. The fault in the product that I received from Amazon was my own. Proven Support was very helpful in getting my mistake resolved and in offering and exchange, free of restocking fees, with immediate shipment. I am awaiting receipt of Model 2178-A.

Ordered the coupler model 2178 and 3 additional puck locks for my construction trailer that I leave on job sites often. Once order arrived I found out I had ordered the wrong coupler lock for my trailer. I contacted the company and they were friendly and professional and quickly expedited my return. They even sent me a new cylinder so that all my locks are now keyed the same. I originally ordered from this company because of product reviews on line. I can tell you that these locks are heavy duty stout locks and I have no fear of leaving my trailer on job sites now. Received the lock next day. The welding quality is excellent. I compared it to other cheaper ones on Amazon and those welds look like they’re going to break. The model I received did not fit over my coupler, but I contacted proven locks directly and they took care of it. Love the amazing customer support!

This lock fits great, looks impressive, and has some weight to it. I pulled this out of the box, and it was easy to install. We have already had our first snow, and I didn't see snow on the face of the lock, where my other lock had water melt into the key hole and refreeze.

Very well built and arrived quickly. Should keep my trailer safe. Would buy again.
