Pendleton Chess & Checkers Set: Travel-ready Roll-up Game Game – 25 Sept. 2019

I purchased this as a gift. It's a lovely set, really well made and is a fantastic addition to the camping gear as it easily rolls away and doesn't take up much space.

Great product. Very nice minimalist design. Perfect for travelling or going for a few drinks with friends. Well made.

It's a cute idea, the roll-up board with a pouch, and several companies have copied this idea to produce chess sets, but Pendelton's version has comparatively poorly designed pieces that make it awkward to distinguish between them. With equal sized discs for all pieces instead of proper stand-up pieces, it's essential to have clearly distinguishable images printed on top, and here the bishops are just too similar to the pawns. The queens and rooks aren't particularly distinctive either compared to other sets.

I gave this as a gift to our son & daughter in law who love to go camping. Not only has it already been to the mountains in her backpack, it went to Rome with them on a trip! They love how compact & easy to pack this set it, they love the Pendleton style. It seemed to be durable and made well. It was a great little gift and not that expensive! I would like one for myself now!

I got this as a gift and I was worried if it comes with missing pieces like how people said in the reviews. Fortunately, it arrived without an issue. All pieces are present and the bag (board) was alright.The button closes very hard though. I mean it closes fine, but needs a lot of force to open. It can tear the bag soon I guess :D You must be gentle with it.
