More features than described
Hydor H2Show Bubble Maker - Internal Venturi Air Pump for Aquariums is sadly under-described. It creates finer bubbles than what you can see in the video demo on YouTube. They circulate through the entire tank very well. It also comes with 3ft of quality soft black airline. The suction cups and clips are soft and I have no trouble removing them. They don't come apart when removed, if they do it is very easy to put the cups back on. The clips hold the airline, power cord and cord for the led lights. Very neat assembly, well thought out. I got plant material clogged into the diffuser and it was easy to completely sweep the channels clear with a bread twist tie. Because it is called a venturi I feared it might produce ozone, but it doesn't and I am happy about that. I wouldn't know how to use ozone in an aquarium. My only con about it would be that even after running it for a week it is loud and makes alot of vibration inside the tank. you don't hear it outside, but if you press your ear to the tank there is high noise and vibration in there. I'm going to try applying Vaseline to the magnet and see if that quiets it down. The diffuser is currently helping me nurse a sick Betta back to health. The meds deplete the O2 a bit, and she was kind of weak to have to come to the surface for a bit of air. She has been able to stay in her cozy places with this diffuser and get some rest. At first she stayed very near the diffuser where the greatest amount of air was flowing through. It looked like it was really helping her respiration and giving her just enough gentle water flow that the bacterial infection wouldn't be able to stick on her and keep spreading. I'm really happy with with this product, I wish I'd had one in this tank sooner. I want to start replacing my other bubblers with these in my other tanks. It's nice to not have to hang a pump on the wall above the waterline and try to stuff it with cotton so it doesn't rattle through the whole house. I just hope I can get it to be more quiet in the tank for the best fish health possible but as far as oxygenating the whole tank, you can see how well it works the minute you put it in and turn it on.

Nice flow of bubbles
I gave this 4 stars because it's advertised to be able to attach the LED lights to the top or on the base. I ordered 2 of ea. Bubble maker and lights. I ordered this bubbler first and after reading the box and directions had to get the lights that go with it. So, I ordered another bubbler and 2 lights. The lights do not fit as advertised. The pin is way too big to fit in the hole. In order to provide the effect that it shows on the box, you have to separately wire the light to the side of the bubbler and then it doesn't sit straight which really shows when the light is on. In other words instead of having a nice straight light shining up through the bubbles, you have a crooked light shining wherever it happens to be leaning towards. Very disappointed in this false advertising by Hydor. These are not cheap items when you pair them. I spent about $80 for the two sets and can't get them to snap together as advertised in the directions and on the boxes. Other than that, the colors are very nice. One light does, however, seem to be stronger than the other light.Bubbles are a very nice fine mist. I place one in each corner of the back of the tank (55 gal) and plugged them into separate outlets at different times so when one light is blue the other is a different color. Did notice that after time of being on, they do cycle around to both being the same color for awhile. Nice effect! Just wish they attached as advertised. I've sent an email to Hydor but have not received any response from them. The suction cups that Hydor provides are really nice. They have a rectangular slot for the electrical cord and a round slot the hose and even a spot on the side for the smaller wire. The electrical cord is very strong so it's hard to get the bubbler to sit flat on the bottom of the tank. You can bury both the bubbler and the light right up to the top with rocks to help hold it in place.I know this review is to be about the bubbler which I have no complaints about at all, nice flow of bubbles and they do reach the top of my tank which is about 18" and I would say they are probably about 6" in dia. when flowing. With a few plants in place to hide all the black cords, the bubbles and lights are a very nice effect.Another thing I need to mention about the bubbler. It comes with a tiny filter (about 1" in length) that you have to place sticking out the top of your tank. My lid has holes already provided so I just pushed the tube up through the hole. You do not need a separate air pump for these, but, warning! If you have cats that like to sit on your tank, you better extend that little filter over the side of the tank and tape it down so they can't get to it. My gal thought it was something to play with and had it off and chewed up within min. of my turning my back. This little filter comes in 3 pcs., the bottom that the tubing fits on and top that just kinda pushes over the edge of the bottom and a very tiny foam filter that fits inside. (about 1/4" sq.) They only send 1 in the set and I've emailed Hydor to try and find out how I can get more. Still have not heard back from them on that issue either. They have a place that says "replacement parts" but there are no order nos. or any way to order them. They do have a location in CA so I would think they would respond to their customers. They did, respond to one of my questions that I had posted prior to buying the first bubbler, but still haven't heard back on anything about the light or the filters. All in all, both items are very well made and work nicely, just not as advertised to be used as a set.

Nice bubbler but I had problems with it clogging up ...
It clogged all the time and so no bubbles, I so was always cleaning it out to work. I keep 40+gal tank crystal.

Serious tank upgrade for me!
This beats the heck out of bubble bars or stones. First of all, you don't need an external pump; I love not having that on top of my tank! It isn't completely silent -- there's a low hum -- but it's far quieter than the external air pumps I've had. It also comes with good quality, flexible black air hose. I have a black-backed tank, so I barely see the hose and power cord. Set up was extremely simple, and this little gem is producing a good amount of very fine bubbles, and the amount is easily adjustable. It's a great size for my 36 gallon bow front tank. The bubbles it produces are more like champagne, and less like boiling, which is great because I've had problems with the spray from the bar bubblers blowing up into my LED tank lights and ruining them. This is not getting the light wet.Seriously, just forget about the bogus air stones -- this is so much better.

Good Air Pump but with minor drawbacks...
For a 20gal tank I recently set up this one works perfectly fine. The bubbles aerate my tank and fish seem to like them. But the size of the bubbles is very fine which makes the water look milky. I tried reducing the air by using the valve but that only limits the amount of bubbles and not change the size in anyway. It is not as silent I hoped it would be and not very easy to hide unless you put a lot of gravel. It makes a constant humming noise. I am not sure how that affects the fish. The noise seems to increase when I try to reduce the air flow by turning the valve. But taking everything into consideration and the fact that you get everything needed to install it in the box included for under $20 makes it a good product for beginners and small tanks.
