B-2200 Pro Series 2400 Battery Backup

I purchased this as a replacement for a 6+ year old Pro Series 2200 battery. I really like the entire system, living in an area where it is not "if" the basement will flood, but "when". The alarms and fluid sensor have been a comfort.The cost was more than I wanted to pay, but the maintenance free was so much more and a couple of places I read not to use a maintenance free battery.The battery came in on time , as expected, filling it was not difficult, just be cautious. My old battery did not have individual caps (the three in one design) so I called the company to ask how I can get a yellow cap for the fluid sensor. I was told they would send me one (have not received it yet, but only two days) within a week - Great!.When I filled the battery I used 6 qts of battery acid, as I had read it needed. It however did not fill to the recommended height, so I emailed the company to see what to do. Surprisingly (or maybe not) I had an answer 20 minutes latter; 6 qts is the correct amount and top off with distilled water.So it was installed in about 30 minutes and the monitoring system says its working. Funny thing about batteries, you are not sure they work until you try them. Tested the pump and it runs fine.Anyway, knowing I have the right battery is worth the little extra money. Sure beats another flood

Just know that it doesn't have battery acid in it. Make note of that when reading this listing. I don't know what the standard is for something like this. I don't buy batteries like this often or before this ever. But I didn't realize this was a vessel for battery acid and therefore you have to buy battery acid for it. You can buy the acid on Amazon, and I had difficult finding it elsewhere online. I dunno. Maybe a legit hardware store would have it.

Imagine my surprise, when I received the battery, went to install it and realized the battery need battery acid to work. I went back through the specs and I didn't find any mention of needing battery acid. I would have ordered it at the same time. Disappointing!

If you can afford the money - better off buying the maintenance free version.It was a pain putting the acid and distilled water in.

We have not even installed it because the acid is dangerous. We are waiting for better weather so we can pour the acid in to the casing outside of the house or garage. This is a terrible product.
