An exploration of the sexual harassment scandal that rocked Fox News and brought down CEO Roger Ailes. (temp) Review: Think before you act... or you'll get in trouble - Awesome movie and cast. Very insightful in regards to the matter of sexual harassment. Review: Love this movie. - This movies is in my top 10. Everyone did a great job portraying the story and great script in my opinion. If you love good true stories or based on true events this is good. Got me hooked in from the very beginning. Glad I got to add it to my collection. And it came in great condition. Sealed in plastic and nothing was broken.

Good, but could have been better
The movie is largely, and mostly, about the chain of events that took down Roger Ailes (played wonderfully by John Lithgow), centered around the lawsuit filed by Gretchen Carlson (played by Nicole Kidman). The main character of the movie, however, is clearly Megyn Kelly (played by Charlize Theron who, like Lithgow was in a ton of prosthetics and did really look and sound like Megyn Kelly). It is focused around her life during and after the feud with trump, and her trying to decide whether to come forward with her own allegations against Ailes. The plot is based on true, very newsworthy events, but conversations were very much fictionalized (which the movie says is the case at the beginning, so it was not trying to fool anyone). It was not trying at all to be a documentary-like depiction of that went on. It also touched on the allegations against Bill O'Reilly but did not make that a focus of the movie. Where I do think the movie is open to criticism is that it made it look like nearly all the males at Fox were harassing the female employees and that they were all lusting after Kelly. And, that all the women who did not join the lawsuit were somehow covering up what was going on. Plus, the movie definitely took a lot of potshots at Fox News and to some extent, its viewers. Now, I am in no way, shape, or form, a fan of or agree politically with, the majority of the Fox News personalities or their viewers, but I do not think the shots were needed to tell the story the movie was telling. The story could easily have stood alone as it was, keeping the political barbs out of it. I am sure anyone watching the movie could tell by the makeup of the cast that the vast majority of those working on the movie are no fans of Fox News, but this was not the kind of story that needed to make that explicit. With those provisos aside, I do think that the other parts of the story were well written and acted, and all the leads, including Margot Robbie, who played a fictional character that was created from the accounts of a combination of women who worked at Fox, played their parts well. For those who get the Blu-ray disc, there are a ton of behind-the-scenes and bonus material. There are about an hour and a half worth of featurettes which can be played individually, or all at one time. Then, the theatrical trailer (but not the better teaser trailer) is included as well. A lot there if you are one of those who like going through the bonus material. Overall, I think it is a good movie, that tells a very necessary story in this day and age, but is not without its flaws. Unfortunately, who likes or dislikes the movie may likely break down to their political leanings. That said, I do think it is worth checking out.

Well done, well told.
Excellent production and story telling masterfully handled by some very talented actors. It is also a story that needs telling, coming from a woman who watched her mother not get a job because she was not considered the head of the household. It didn't matter that she had considerably more qualifications. It certainly didn't matter that she was a single mother, therefore the obvious head of the household. It was decades later before she was recognized. At her death one of the buildings where she spent a lot of her time was named for her in remembrance of her expertise and commitment to her work helping others to grow in their own lives. As a society we continue to grow and hopefully move into new understanding and awareness of the goodness that can shine through us as humans being, not humans doing. I am glad this film was made.

great title to begin with
aside from the title the next bombshell I discovered was the great, great pleasure of viewing the abilities of a sensational cast. not only the stars, but each and every performance. anybody want to go in the acting business? well watch this film a hundred times and see hard work made to appear easy. I was floored by the acting as much as by the story. what a trip.

Excellent Film with Superb Cast
I do not understand the negative reviews. This film is interesting, well done, and has an excellent cast. Charlize Theron is especially good and makes Megyn Kelly much more likable and principled than she is in real life. The kind of sexism that still goes on at Fox needs to be exposed. Roger Ailes may be gone but the crotch cam lives on!

A good look into this world
Looking into this world is ugly and worse than the movie portrays

Eventhough I am a Canadian I watched the the 2016 US election fully while watching Faux News. This movie, Bombshell, accurately showed what the women looked like and how they behaved as well as some of the CRAP they had to put up with to work for Faux News. This movie is very relevant because it shows what is rarely discussed in polite society, namely sexual abuse by bosses. The reason it is rarely discussed is because the media is owned or controlled by men who are the ones who are doing the abusing. Does anyone believe that Murdock, who owns Faux didn't know what Ailes was doing ? REALLY? Murdock didn't get to be as rich as he is by NOT knowing everything about his top employees ! What was really unusual and what got CEO Roger Ailes ( the most powerful man in television) canned was that his accuser Gretchen Carlson taped her encounters with Ailes. Carlson was a graduate Cuma Sum Laud from Stanford and was an ex Miss America. Gretchen got a $20 MILLION dollar settlement ! Charlize Theron was amazing as Megyn Kelly. I thought her portrayal of Kelly showed her up for what she is, a money grubbing, ladder climbing, out for all she could get parasite. Nicole Kidman played the part of Grtechen with the subtlety that was needed. Lithgow's performace as Ailes knocked it out of the park. After Ailes got canned, O'Reilly, a top dog at Faux, also got thrown out for sexual harassment and paid out $25 MILLION to his accuser. It is nice that at least once in a while the good do win.
