Great family tent! Very excited for the summer!
(UPDATED: 12/30/2016) -Amazing tent, still 5-stars!! I just wanted to update, since we have used the Browning Big Horn Family Tent for three camping seasons (2014, 2015 & 2016) so far. This tent has been amazing! We have camped in conditions with cold/hot temperatures, high winds, severe rain and hail. Yes, HAIL. The tent has held up beautifully, through all of our camping adventures, and I would still highly recommend this tent. In regards to the flooring, it did leak a little during our trip to Steamboat Springs. Considering it rained every single morning and afternoon/evening, it didn't actually leak until the day it hailed for 40 minutes straight. It wasn't light hail, it was torrential. I noticed it was coming through one of the doors, that was facing the direction of the hail. Not a problem though, the rest of tent did great. I called ALPS/Browning when we got back and the customer service was amazing, they said it shouldn't have leaked, and sent a replacement tent body the next day!! This was the second time, I had to call about a replacement part, the first was about a tension rod that had broken and they sent a replacement for that next day as well. Besides the tent, the customer service and warranty service agents are fantastic! An excellent tent, backed by a great company. Me and my family love this tent! We are so excited to start the 2017 camping season with the Big Horn Tent.(ORIGINAL REVIEW - MAY 2014)This past weekend, we were finally able to put the tent up for the first time, before going on a community campout this weekend in our HOA's backcountry. First, we put down our footprint (heavy duty reversible tarp from Costco) and then pulled out the tent, poles, stakes and rainfly. The instructions were very clear and concise, and are sewn directly into the storage bag so you don’t need to worry about it getting lost. Once we had the tent folded out completely, and all of the poles extended it took my husband and I, about 15 minutes to complete the setup (and we’re novices). The tent when it is complete is 10 x 15 feet, and a center height of 7’ 3’’. My husband is 6’1’’ had PLENTY of headroom all around the tent and not just standing in the middle. He does have to bend down slightly when entering the tent, but he didn’t find that to be an issue. The tent and floor material seem to be high quality and very durable for a $300 tent. It will have to withstand me, my husband, our 5 year-old daughter and 2 Samoyeds ( 45 lbs. and 85 lbs.).The tent can be divided into two rooms, each room on one side of the zippered divider panel has 3 pockets for storage. Each room has its own separate entrance, which we absolutely love! There is one hook in the middle, that can be used for handing a lantern. There are 6 windows (4 on the walls and 1 on each door). One thing I would like to mention, is that there are no tie backs for the windows on the walls or the door. Not an issue for us, but something to note when purchasing. In one room, we set up 3 sleeping cots which are each 75"L x 25"W x 16"H, and they fit perfectly, taking into account about 5 inches of space in between the cots and wall.I have attached pictures of the interior, since there are absolutely NONE on the internet. So, we hope these pictures give you a good idea of the tent.We love this tent so far, and are VERY excited to take it out!

Stayed dry in a flash flood!
This tent is AMAZING. We were staying at a campground in NC. It rained so hard all three nights, flash floods and everything! We woke to ankle deep water and even water running under the tent. Felt like we were on a water bed. But, we were dry! BONE DRY. Not a single leak. And it poured for about 5 hours each night! Also slept our family of 6 comfortably. I liked the divider for when someone needed to change. The zippers didn't get caught like other tents we have slept in. I would highly recommend this tent. Great price and my husband said it wasn't too hard to set up. You definitely need 2 people to set it up though. The tent itself is a little heavy but to be expected with that size.

Not the quality you would expect and not best for families with small children and/or dogs.
Browning Big Horn 8-Person TentWe purchased this tent for our whole family including two dogs to go camping in the Pacific NW. We typically experience different types of ground including gravel, dirt, sand, and concrete. We experience rain, and most often high winds. We selected the Browning tent due to our understanding of the quality of most Browning products. We wanted a tent that was large enough for our family and built with enough quality to withstand the elements we encounter while camping. We were very disappointed in the quality and workmanship of the tent we received. We spent the extra money looking to have something substantial from Browning and I do not believe that this tent lives up to the Browning name. I put thought and research into this review to hopefully help others decide if this is the right tent for them. I have also included possible work arounds that might help others that are considering this tent as well. The Good:The tent is good looking it is certainly aesthetically pleasing. There have been incorrect comments about the color online and I can tell you it is the brown and yellow as you would expect from Browning. You have plenty of floor space and height. My 6’4 husband was very pleased with the height inside of the tent as he did not have to hunch over. Our family cot system was able to fit inside including the beds for both of our shepherd dogs. There are 4 windows and screens on the two doors which allow for plenty of ventilation. The Bad:Unfortunately the Browning Big Horn 8-Person Tent failed right out of the box and continued to disappoint. One of the upright steel poles was manufactured incorrectly as it did not contain the steel end piece to keep the pole locked in place in the elbow joint. This causes that end of the wall to collapse in the wind. I have included a picture of the tent poles showing the ones with the steel end pieces and the one with the missing part.Setup is not too bad. You can see Reed Lukens set it up by himself in the video here below however he also received a tent that was not manufactured incorrectly as the floor was not sealed which furthers my concern about the quality of the workmanship:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6HeVukH6QdkThis design is not really what is best for families. The bathtub floor is twelve inches to the door which means that children and dogs will need to step over 1 foot in order to get inside the door. This is too tall for little legs to constantly step over and caused a constant problem for our smaller campers. The flooring is not thick or tarp like which makes the matter worse as it is vulnerable material. The bathtub floor did not last 48 hours with little legs. We typically keep a tarp under our tents and I would double up on that tarp if you are considering purchasing this tent. I would not purchase this tent if you have dogs or smaller campers. We would have preferred that the divider be removable or movable ourselves to create the size of rooms we would prefer instead of the tent being divided equally with the divider permanently affixed. Also once you tie back the divider you lose access to the storage pockets. The zipper design is very poor and will fail you if you are not very careful with them. Unfortunately with children this zipper did not last us 24 hours. I would not take this tent out with dogs or children without investing in a magnetic screen door attachment. The magnetic screen door would need to be greater than 4 feet wide and greater than 64 inches tall. Something like the one sold on Amazon here: https://www.amazon.com/Magnetic-Screen-IKSTAR-Curtain-Automatically/dp/B019ETUQ6U/ref=sr_1_29?ie=UTF8&qid=1530559297&sr=8-29&keywords=magnetic+screen+door This video review by Joseph Hart explains the zipper issue and unless all of your campers are tall enough to handle the complexity of this zipper the zipper will most certainly not last you.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8Yx-vBOF03IFactory stakes of course have never been the best and I would recommend that you replace them with Coleman stakes like these: https://www.amazon.com/Coleman-10-In-Steel-Tent-Stakes/dp/B002HU086C/ref=sr_1_6?ie=UTF8&qid=1530559591&sr=8-6&keywords=coleman+stakesWe have camped in tents half of this price for many years and I was very disappointed with the design and quality of this tent. I will be contacting Amazon to see if I can obtain a refund as I expected better.Specs:Color: Dark brown bottom, greyish brown top with yellow accentsFloor Size: 15 feet x 10 feetHeight: Tent is 88 inches tall slopes to 66 inches.Room Divider: Irremovable divider in center of the tent. Awesome Tent if you're looking for something BIIIIGGGG.
We love this tent. I am only demoting it a start because:1) it is 40lbs when all stowed away into the bag2) the inner pockets are only fully functional when the central wall is zipped down3) Could have used a hook or two to hang a jacket (now I am just being a diva). It is not a SMALL tent. However, my husband is 6'9 and his one requirement was that he could stand up. Well - mission accomplished. This tent stands at 7'3 and he could comfortably stand and walk around in the tent. Our first night camping we got a major wind and rain storm. We had set up a tarp underneath the tent to prevent moisture, but left the edges overhanging. What resulted was a LAKE under the tent, but not a drop of water made it inside. We love the mesh ceiling and will definitely use it for starry/clear nights. It had great airflow and didn't get stuffy at all. Also didn't get too hot despite sitting in full sun for at least 1.5 hours.Very happy with our purchase.

Great idea, unfortunately leaks in rain
Bought this product after a huge amount of research because on paper it looked like an extremely durable and reliable product. Easy to set up and extremely spacious and comfortable. We took this tent camping for the first time and experienced heavy rains, and due to a considerable design flaw, water dripping on to the windows gets caught in the pocket created by the seams (the windows do not zip down all the way) and leaches into the tent from both corners. Ours also leaked from all four corners. Due to the pooling water underneath the tent (we used a tarp for a ground sheet that was tucked in), we also had issues with water leaching through the floor fabric like condensation that made the bottom of our luggage and mattress wet. Customer service was fantastic and shipped out a new tent body, but unfortunately the result on the new one was the same as we found out when testing it with a hose in the yard. I would not recommend for wet weather unfortunately.

Love it.
Great tent, very roomy. Easy to set up (about 15 mins total with 2 people on our second time using it) lots of space, and airflow. Kept the rain out well (had 3 days of rain during one camping trip this past summer) although one corner of the floor had some dampness coming through, but it was in a low spot where a puddle was formed on the outside. Lots of windows when needed, and great privacy when everythings zipped up. Gotta be careful opening zipper on door, it tends to get caught in the overhang material (but thats minor, and common on most tents). Had some good winds one day and everything held up sturdy. Floor material is a little different, its like regular tent material with a thin coating on it (time will tell with how that holds up). Very happy so far. We also had a few comments on how nice the tent looks, and i have to agree. Did a lot of research before going with this tent and spent a little more than i originally wanted to, but very glad i did.

Easy to Set Up, Lots of Space, Great Customer Service
We've now used this tent about 4 times -- 2 in the back yard and 2 camping. It has withstood decent wind (when the ropes are staked) and very wet days.Pros: The tent is very spacious. We can stand upright and had plenty of room to put all of our stuff for a family of 5 (2 adults, and 3 kids ages 8, 6, 6). It sets up easily with the challenge being the fly -- but I've started figuring it out now that we've set it up 4 times. I'm sure the next one I'll do it without help. (Hint: the logos go ABOVE the doors!). We had one of the elastics in one of the roof-poles break on the third setup. I contacted the company and they replaced it quite quickly at no charge to myself.Cons: The walls of the tent do get wet in persistent rain, so keep your items away from the walls if you're in that situation. The zippers do occasionally get stuck on the flaps which is frustrating for us (small kids going in and out all day), but otherwise the doors are very large and spacious -- easy to get in and out for adults. I also wish there were a few more dangling hooks inside to place lights, etc. The pouches on either side of the internal wall are nice, but you cannot access 2 out of 3 of them if the doors are "open".Overall, I'm happy with the purchase.

Great tent for family, floor is very thin, need additional protection.
Got this tent back in April and wanted to wait for some nice weather before I put it up to make sure there's no tears. It was fairly easy to put up with 2 person. It has a lot of room to move around and the air flow is great. The fly was very easy to put up and to adjust. One big problem that I don't like is the floor is very thin. Anyone buying this tent is to make sure you put an additional tarp under or put an outside mat inside so you don't make any holes in the floor. Overhaul, a great tent for a family.
