I have been buying this serum for months and I will keep buying it until they stop making it. I don't have time for makeup in the morning before work and this just does the trick for a presentable healthy looking skin. My skin is super sensitive and this product has never given me a rash or any other irritation. Will recommend to everyone 👍

TLDR: So I have combo skin (OILY on my forehead), and mattefying products haven’t worked OTHER than this one! I use a drop with my sunscreen, and then another drop with my foundation. I barely have to dabble my face during the day, and it’s lasted a full 8 hours! Super lightweight and absolutely clear.Pros:- Good gel consistency, so one drop goes a long way! The consistency also helps with dealing with very watery formulas- Lightweight and sheer, no worries about smearing/coloring elsewhere/etc.- Mixes with other liquid products incredibly easily!- Ultimately effective and does exactly what it says it will, without causing any other acne or skin issues (no skin irritation at all, and I have VERY sensitive skin!)Cons:- Depending on how you feel about cosmetics, could seem overpriced. But again, 2 drops go a long way for oily skin, so up to you- Consistency makes the dropper a little weird to use. You have to pinch the top rubber part once or twice while the dropper is fully submerged in order to get product- Scales with weather. Will need about 3 drops in warmer days, 4 in summer (think NYC Manhattan summer heat)

I have tried both the regular primer and the two-in-one. I prefer the regular primer over the two-in-one. Though being someone with sensitive skin, neither has caused breakouts for me which some primers are known to do quickly.As a primer the two-in-one works. It goes on very lightweight and doesn’t take long to dry down. Has a decent tacky feel so your makeup has something to cling to. It also feels very hydrating but Neutrogena’s hydro boost serum could do that just as well without being in their primer too. I do really like that it can be applied with a dropper though.As a shine control I’m not impressed with the two-in-one. There is a bit of a “glow” that it leaves even under foundation that required a mattifying powder to get rid of. For dryer skin types it might look nice but considering this is marketed as shine control it doesn’t make much sense.The regular shine control primer is fantastic. It has the feel of a moisturizer and dries completely matte. I feel this does a slightly better job than the two-in-one because even after blotting my makeup doesn’t look patchy with it. The only downside to this primer is that if not massaged completely into the skin it can leave behind a fine grainy texture in some areas that is noticeable under the foundation.

This product did help with oil control, though since I have sensitive skin it did break me out occasionally.

I’ve had oily skin my whole life & this was a game changer when it came to controlling my shiny face after makeup was applied. Prior to this within 2 hours I’d have a shiny oily face & now I go all day with very minimal shine/oil coming through. My face doesn’t feel gross & greasy using this & it truly does help control the shine. I’ve tried many primers before this that claimed shine control, but none seem to work. 10/10 on this.

I was hoping this product is what they replaced their rice protein complex shine control primer with, since they yanked the black tube of it off the market. That was the best stuff ever, why they did that is beyond me. Anyway, this serum is pretty much worthless for my needs. I need something that absorbs oil for hours, by itself and not underneath any makeup. I'm in martial arts and don't wear makeup to class but don't want an oily face. Had high hopes for this. The "matte" lasted maybe a half an hour, and then my face was even oiler than normal after the matte had run it's course. I have a whole bottle of it now and won't even use it again. So disappointed. Please bring back the black tube. It was the best on the market.

I love this! I love how it absorbs instantly and makes my skin so smooth feeling. It’s not really a serum but not fully a gel, either. One dropper or less is all it takes and you’re makeup ready. Really controls the oiliness all day with minimal touch ups. Will buy again!

This is a GREAT deal on a primer plus serum. U can’t ever go wrong with neutrogena, ever! I mix this with my neutrogena hydro boost moisturizer and BAM! it works like a charm. This is the only second primer I’ve ever used, and the both didn’t work like I imagined. I thought my pores would be literally invisible, but it does work enough to cover them up nicely and gives a nice look to my face. Kinda brightens it up a bit. I still would like to know what primer actually makes ur pores COMPLETELY invisible (if there is one). But for the price and that this is a 2-in-one, this is pretty great!! Oh and I have oily, sensitive skin (not REALLY sensitive thou!). Amazon, u helped me again, thank u! Lol. If anyone has a primer that REALLY, TRULY covers up your pores, at a decent price, please let me know in a comment of ur own. Hope this helps!!
