96-Count Beantown Roasters Variety Pack Sampler of 12 Assorted Roasted Coffees, single-cup coffee pack sampler for Keurig K-Cup Brewers

The first time I bought this variety pack, it was great. I love having a variety of blends available and the capsules all provided a smooth brew and a full cup of coffee. No half-cups or backfeeding and clogging up my brewer, as with some other discount variety packs. The second time was a different story. I had a few unsealed cups, as others have reported, and serious quality issues with many other capsules. Overfilled, underfilled, too much air or not enough, and many of them backfed into my brewer. It seems like they threw all the rejects into the variety pack. Because the price has gone even lower, I will order one more time and update this review after I try the new box.UPDATE: The new order came in and the quality has improved. I haven't yet found any unsealed cups nor any grounds in my coffee. The package came with a slip in the box that had instructions for contacting them directly about any issues, which shows they care about making it right. The coffee is a bit on the weak side for those who like it very strong, but I brewed one into a clear glass and it looked like coffee, not brown water as others have reported. Overall I find it to be a very good value.

I would like to be able to give the product 4.5 stars because some of the pods seemed difficult for my Keurig to puncture and so I had to fuss with the brewer. So far this has been maybe four pods out of the 60 or so that I've used, so it's not terrible, just a tad annoying.The coffee is very good. There isn't a huge difference between Uptown, Downtown, and Midtown, although there is some, so that let's you fine-tune the coffee for your particular tastes at the moment. I like the French and Italian roasts very much because they have a good strong flavor without the burned taste that some darker roasts have. I didn't really want decaf, but it comes in the selection and after I tried it, well -- I liked it. It has a good flavor without weird chemical aftertastes and is a good drinking coffee when you don't want the buzz.There are three flavors: hazelnut, vanilla, and chocolate chip cookie. They have a nice flavor, not weak, not overpowering. You can definitely smell the chocolate in the chocolate chip cookie. A little bit of sugar brings out the flavors a bit more, but it's not necessary. I think I got about 8 decaf coffees, and the rest was split between flavored and regular blends. There was one pod of a different blend (can't remember what it was now) that strayed into the mix, but the rest had at least six of the same blend. I did not count them before I stacked them in the counter, but there is enough of each for several cups.I've been buying Donut Shop for years as my go-to coffee but I am considering changing to this brand, or at least alternating them. I like having the variety on hand and the price is very reasonable, too. I'll be frank: I wasn't expecting much more than a mid-range coffee, but all the roasts are solid, good coffee blends, and the three flavors are the kind that I and my husband won't get tired of. If you're on the fence about this product, it's well worth a try.

I subtracted a star for the packaging and the condition of several (if not all) of the cups. I bought this variety box for work. I was drawn to it because of the price and the amount the variety pack came with. Right now, I am sipping on the chocolate chip cookie flavored coffee. I have no complaints regarding flavor (but I still have more flavors to try). When I read that it was a 96 pack with 12 flavors, I assumed there would be an even amount of each flavor (8). I think I got about 15 of the Colombian flavor and 5 of the hazelnut. I guess that's okay since I really liked the Colombian coffee. Anyway ... the packaging: I wasn't pleased with the packaging. Everything was thrown into a box (I think literally) and packed very tightly (which could be the cause why some busted?). Only a few have fully degassed, but that wasn't really an issue since I read that the "puff" is b/c of its "freshness". Lastly, three of the cups were completely busted/opened and spilled over all the other cups.

When my office switched to using a Keurig machine where we had to buy our own pods, I searched for the best price per cup and these were the best I found. I like the variety of all the different flavors and roasts. I personally prefer the darker roasts which came in the mix but have enjoyed the flavored and lighter roasts as well. When brewing the lighter and flavored roasts, I choose the option on our Keurig machine to make it a stronger cup. The pods work perfectly with the 2.0 version of Keurig machines. My only minor complaint for this product is that all 96 pods are shipped in one large box, all loose and boxed or bagged according to flavor. When the box arrived I had organize everything into flavor/roast categories and store them in their own ziplock bags to keep things organized and fresh.

Buying a 12-pack of K-cups at the grocery store costs around $8, so 96 cups for less than $50 is a GREAT deal! Most of the flavors are good. However, I wish they'd ditch Chocolate Chip Cookie and Vanilla Bean for more Italian & French Roast in this variety pack.Wow! I just ordered a new supply of 96 cups (October, 2014), and just for fun, I put in a request to leave out Chocolate Chip Cookie, Vanilla Bean, & Hazelnut for more Italian & French Roast...THEY DID IT! I had half expected them to say that there are a specific number of each flavor and it couldn't be changed, but that wasn't the case. KUDOS TO BEANTOWN FOR TRUE CUSTOMER SERVICE!! I'll be back!
