3M SRL-12 Ultrathon Insect Repellent Lotion, 2 oz

I am getting ready for a safari trip to Africa and this brand was recommended highly from multiple sources, including our travel agent and travel medical office. It was a little difficult to find but of course I found it on Amazon. This will keep me safe from bugs on my trip! Thank you!

This is the best stuff when we go camping , I’m allergic to a lot of insects I tent to swell up , and with this I don’t get bit . Now I can enjoy the outdoors with my husband and family :)

I don't know that any mosquito repellent can get 5-stars. This has its faults, but it's about as good as any other. It helps keeps mosquitoes away, but you'll still get bites through it in many situations. I don't like the feel on my skin, but that's true with all repellants. My real complaint is that it's oily and doesn't spread super well. And it separates into layers in the tube. You have to shake it and knead the tube to get it to blend. It gets the job done, with some issues.

I need something with Deet, but not in a greasy spray. This works well, but you must you must apply it on ankles and everywhere your skin is exposed. Sitting in a friend’s patio, I get bit by small biting flies. Even though I apply this on my exposed skin, the critters even seem to sometimes get into my blouse and leave bites on my back and neck or arms. They can get in anywhere it seems and do damage Ugh.

I'm delicious.At least to mosquitoes. There is something about me that is very attractive to mosquitoes so I need something that will keep them away. Ultrathon is that thing.I went camping and knew that there would be a lot of mosquitoes there. I did some research on bug repellent and decided to get the Sawyer Premium Permethrin Clothing Insect Repellent Trigger Spray for my clothes and the Ultrathon for my delicious skin.At dusk, the air was full of mosquitoes. The mosquitos were literally bouncing off me; however, I did not see a single mosquito land on me. The next morning, I woke up mosquito bite free!I did not reapply the Ultrathon the next day even though it says it only protects for 12 hours. The next evening, the mosquitoes were back and even though I had not reapplied the Ultrathon, I only ended up getting two mosquito bites: one on my hand (having had washed my hands) and one on my ankle where I had not put Ultrathon since I was wearing pants and socks the entire day.I will be using Ultrathon again the next time I am in mosquito country.

Mousquitos LOVE me. I mean. Ask any mousquito. They travel distance to drink my blood. I act as a de facto mousquito repelant to my friends because when I am around none of my buddies gets bitten. & my bites blow to a size of baked-by-melisa cupcakes. Which makes it a pain to enjoy my stunning garden and pool and take a stroll through our Marin forest of redwoods at sunset. Or sunrise. & sometimes during the day. I tried everything. I always have to have an after bite with me because, well, there is always a bite. At least one. This evening I tried this cream for the first time. Bite free. I actually watched for the first time as mousquitos landed on my friends (who insisted on using their spray). I felt as though I was defying the laws of physics. I promise to update (if I can) if this changes but, boy, I have hope.

While I feel this product protected me somewhat from insects, it didn't have nearly the same effect as the picaridin lotion that was included in my 3 pack of insect repellents. I found that the black flies that would show up early morning and late evening wouldn't mind either way if I was wearing this lotion or not. Despite that, I didn't notice mosquitos. The smell was minimal from the lotion, and I know it lasts the hours that they advertise. If you're looking to repel mosquitos, this is good. If it's biting flies, try something else.

Best insect repellant lotion hands down!!!!!! Saved my husband and I while staying DEEP in the rainforest in Costa Rica (no joke, we were far from civilization and staying secluded in a tree house, being one with nature). We used Ultrathon every day and neither of us had ANY bug bites! We only got bit at the end of our trip while staying in Tamarindo the last few days of our trip. I believe it is because we were near the ocean and in and out of the water frequently and did not re-apply as often as we should have. ALSO, this smells a million times better than OFF Deep Woods and most other OFF bug repellant products. We really didn't even notice the smell after putting it on. If you are traveling somewhere that requires good protection from bug bites you need to purchase this product - I was very happy I did! P.S. TWO bottles were enough for my husband and I traveling 10 days throughout Costa Rica.
