Artificial Intelligence Basics: A Non-Technical Introduction

A top-tier easy-to-read intro to a critical space
I loved this book for its simple well-defined structure and for how easy it was to read and digest. I read a lot of material when I was getting up to speed on the space and this is in my top 3 books for new folks just learning about the field. Great work Tom.

Not exactly non technical but not authors fault. You can use ChatGPT to help explain any confusion.
AI is a very esoteric subject. People like myself who work in finance and deal with tech companies all the time will not have the required software, data engineering, and mathematical background to gain a technical expertise. AI requires a technical expertise to understand, it’s not very simple to “dumb down” as it is inherently sophisticated. I think the author makes an excellent attempt to simplify these concepts so it’s more accessible but he fails to do so, however I can’t blame him.If you don’t understand a concept, I suggest using ChatGPT to help you break the concept down and be able to ask specific questions. The book provided a foundation and explanation, while ChatGPT answered all the specific questions I had so I could clarify any confusion and understand the technology at a deeper level. I find it funny how I’m using AI to understand AI. Nevertheless it’s a great book as it’s short, concise, and will give you the necessary introduction you need.

Artificial Intelligence Explained in Plain English
I've been in the tech industry for more than 20 years and the buzzwords that have exploded around AI over the past few have left us all confused...until now. Tom Taulli breaks down the industry jargon in simple terms so that you can actually understand the history behind the AI movement and how terms like machine learning, deep learning, natural language processing, and big data all fit together. His writing is clearly organized, and he provides the examples that anyone needs to understand how AI and its associated technologies will shape the future. Highly recommended!

It's the perfect book for readers with non-technical backgrounds.
This book is great! I work at a tech company that utilizes machine learning for it's products, but don't have a technical background. This book broke down a very confusing topic into easy to understand language and takeaways. I highly recommend it. I don't feel quite as stupid now when I talk with our tech team.

A users guide to the expanding world of Ai
Not a text but a manual that helps understand the intricacies of machine intelligence. Best for someone who already knows the basics. A helpful guide and reference more than a text.

AI Explained for the Non-Technical Business Leader
Had the opportunity to knock this out in one weekend -- Tom is a tech entrepreneur and fantastic Forbes contributor. For any executives or decision-makers out there kicking the tires on an AI project or frankly for anyone interested in this fascinating technology and how it can improve their operation, check this one out. It's an introduction to AI written from a non-technical perspective, so personally right up my alley -- and I know there are many business leaders and entrepreneurs in a similar spot.A great takeaway right from the outset of the book: "Soon, the information contained in this book won't be merely a topic of interest; it will be a prerequisite for participation in the modern economy."A value-add for sure.

Mostly useless
Sure there are a lot of buzzwords to learn in AI but not this writer makes me feel as I am either in a presentation gathering or a company newsletter — corporate buzzwords that mean little . It is not engaging, but it is mostly dull and banal
