Really Helps with Bad Breath and Dental Health—My Cats Love It!
I got this food because I wanted to be more mindful of my cats’ dental health, and I’m so glad I gave it a try. It actually helps reduce plaque and freshens their breath—which I noticed after just a little while of using it! Their teeth look cleaner, and I no longer get that strong “cat breath” smell when they come in for cuddles. The kibble pieces are a bit larger than regular cat food, which I think helps them chew more and keeps them fuller a little longer. I also like that this brand uses quality ingredients, and my cats genuinely seem to enjoy it. They’ve taken to it right away, especially compared to other dental-specific foods we’ve tried.I do wish it was a little more budget-friendly—I’d give it to them exclusively if I could—but for now I alternate it with other foods. Even with switching it up, I’ve still seen a difference in their dental health. If you’re looking for something that actually supports your cat’s teeth and that they’ll actually eat, I highly recommend giving this a shot!

Has saved my 14.5 year old cat’s oral health!
Health:This cat food has helped keep my cat’s teeth so clean! For YEARS! She is 14 and has teeth of a young cat still because of this cat food. It is great at keeping the tartar under control and her breath never smells. She still has every single tooth at 14.5 years old. Chewability:While the pieces are big, they are easy for my house cat to eat. She is 8lbs so not very big herself and can easily eat this food.

My kitty couldn’t have his teeth cleaned
My cat is not able to have his teeth cleaned because his liver counts were off a little bit. He is 13, and he absolutely adores this food. His breath is already so much better after feeding it for about five days. I had been feeding only canned food, which I feel is healthier for a cat than dry food, because they get most of their moisture from the food they eat. He seems to be drinking quite a bit of water, so I feel OK about feeding this to him currently. I may also intersperse with some canned food meals. It’s really bad when your cat‘s teeth collect tartar like my cat does. My previous cat baby collected no tartar on his teeth, except a little tiny bit toward the gumline. He never had to have his teeth cleaned. But my current cat baby collects tartar like crazy! I am so thankful for this food because now I feel that his teeth and gums are going to be much healthier. Also, I can let him sleep next to me now, without smelling his terrible breath 🫢Update December 10, 2023Success!! I just checked my cats teeth, which he hates and generally will not let me do, I had to put on Medi gloves to do it, but I looked at his molars, and I do not see a trace of accumulated tartar.I am over the moon happy because not only is it saving me about $700 in teeth cleaning, yes, that is what my cat vet charges, and the Discount vet charges about $400 plus the blood work, but I do not have to have my cat anesthetized, which he probably couldn’t do anyway because of his liver counts. This food is really the answer to fresh smelling breath for my cat. When My cat, Pasha, licks my hand, I smell absolutely no bad smells in his saliva, and when he lies next to me in bed at night, there is no bad breath smell. I would say it has taken about six months for his teeth to completely clean up. I think I started feeding him this food in about July 2023. I still feed him premium, canned cat food morning and evening, but he likes to munch on this dry food in between so it cleans the canned cat food from his teeth, as well as the accumulated tartar. I can tell that he feels better too. I believe his stinky mouth was really bothering him. I still don’t know why one of my vets did not recommend this food, especially for a cat who couldn’t be anesthetized to have his teeth cleaned. I may have to mention that at the next vet visit.

Works, works, works!
Would give this 6 stars if I could. My cats breath really started to stink. Checked her teeth and found a lot of tartar buildup. Checked into dental cleanings and realized I was in for hundreds of dollars. Decided to try this first. After 3 weeks her breath is good and 90% of her tartar is gone. The food is designed to force the cat to chew. Big food pebbles that scrape against the teeth. The best part is she actually likes the food. No transition needed. A great product that I highly recommend.

Will continue to purchase
I'm glad I read reviews before purchasing, the kibble pieces in this food are MUCH larger than a regular kibble. This forces the cat to bite into each piece allowing the food to help clean their teeth. My cat was not mine originally. The person I got her from fed her Meow Mix for the first 3 years of her life. It took me a long time to get her off of Meow Mix and used to eating something slightly healthier - we moved to Purina Indoor Advantage. She now LOVES Purina and was very mad when I recently introduced her to Hills Oral Care. I don't know if it's the flavor or the size of the pieces she doesn't enjoy, but it's not her favorite food in the world. She does eat it - begrudgingly. This actually works in my advantage as she's slightly overweight and is on a diet. With her not loving this food, she eats less - putting herself on the diet and keeping her from meowing at me for more food!I will continue to buy this for the sake of her teeth and health, but I feed her a mixture of foods to keep her happy as well.

Expensive but high quality
I looked into this food after hearing an expensive horror story of dental surgery from a cat owner at work. My cat is basically not food motivated at all, and pretty much only (reluctantly) ate her crunchies in between mealtimes. Imagine my surprise when I poured some of this in her bowl and she ran right over to test it. Like many I thought the size was a little concerning but the cat doesn't seem to mind. Might be an issue with older or younger cats. While the cat seems to like the flavor it is pricey. I might experiment with feeding it every few days or mixing with other foods. A side effect of this fiber-heavy kibble is some real monstrosities in the litter box...
