I bought these as childproof latches. They are easy to install. They work nicely and are pretty sturdy so far.

these worked great for a drawer on my desk that wouldn't stay closed.

they look great, function fine, but the screws could be a little deeper, being so small and close together a light tug from a kiddo who didn't unlock it will pull the hole side from the wood.

EXCELLENT QUALITY! I made the mistake of buying hollow tin clasps that bent easily. These are SOLID and very strong.

Nice reproduction of latches. I have a large wooden farm box, nearly 100 years old that I bought for $25. I cleaned the box, put on a nice stain, hand rub finished (3 coats). I used these since the original latches were missing. A beautiful addition to my sunroom.

These are OK, made from mostly solid metal and not pressed tin like the competition. The problem is that these are made from cheap pot metal, which is not a strong alloy. So don't stress these too much becauase I suspect they will not hold up.

Works well

I'm prone to buying little decorative touches for my house. Not long ago I bought a bellows for my fireplace that looked all rustic and quaint (despite my fireplace being gas). The bellows is nice, but has no latching that will hold it closed. I bought this clasp to install on the handles of the bellows to keep it closed and I have to say the clasp looks like it's original to the bellows. It fits perfectly, was super easy to attach, and works exactly as I'd hoped. Now I just have to figure out what I'm going to do with the second clasp that came in the box. Maybe I'll make a matchbox to go on the mantle and use the second clasp on that, just to give people yet another reason to wonder why I have so many wood-burning accessories for a natural gas fireplace.
