Behance Action Method, Action Journal (Orange)

My brother has been buying them for years and I finally bought one for myself.Why I think it's great:The cover and paper quality is excellent. I like to use Sharpie pens to write and some papers tend to let them bleed through, but the paper used in the Action Journal doesn't. The back file folder is perfect to keep my external notes in one place until I have transferred them into the Action Journal. I don't have to transfer anything, but I'd like to. Dot Grid pages help me keep things more organized, whether I'm writing horizontally or vertically. It goes with me almost everywhere. The layout lets me focus on developing my ideas fully and I actually make draft action plans.But, like with most things in life, you get out of it what you put into it.

I was looking for a journal that not only provided a place to write meeting notes, but also kept 'action items' seperate so they wouldn't get lost among the notes. This notebook delivered, and I'm seeing results already. Nice materials, good size, and sharp looking. Worth every penny!

Only thing it's missing is the "workbook"on how to use it which was featured in the original I believe. Either way it's an amazing tool for me and I will be buying another.

I had another one of these journals and it was amazing. This one seemed to be perforated incorrectly. The pages were much more narrow and they tore too easily. I was so disappointed. Because the first one was so worth the money.

My original Action Journal had a stitch binding and was wonderful. Held up very well over a year. Ordered a new one through Amazon instead of direct from Behance as it appeared to be the same, but I could get it in 2 days with Prime, however was disappointed to note the binding was glued instead of stitched. This doesn't allow the book to open flat and pushes the perforation further out from the binding, therefore reducing the usable area of paper.

I opened my order today and the spine was coming apart. It looked like a dog chewed on it or something and most of the pages are bent. I pay $30 for a notebook i expect it to be in new condition. It had to have happened before shipping because the shipping material wasn't damaged at all.

This is a high quality product; it is costly, but it is of premium quality. Suitable for very serious and senior meetings. Can be used with fountain pen ink, and the dot grid design is simply perfect. Took some time to get used to the action boxes usage, but after a couple of weeks, the habit was int, and the effectiveness too.

Nur kurz zur Einleitung - ich habe das Action Journal direkt aus den USA bezogen und nicht über Amazon. Ändert aber nichts an der Tatsache das ich enttäuscht bin von dem Journal und das es jetzt unbenutzt im Schrank steht. Dazu muss ich sagen das meine Arbeitswerkzeuge Füllfederhalter mit verschiedensten Tinten sind.Gekauft hatte ich es weil mich die Methodik und Struktur des Action Journals sehr angesprochen hatte.Beim ersten Auspacken gefiehl mir die Struktur des Buches gut, es fühlte sich wertig an, allerdings nicht so sehr wie ein Leuchturm 1917 oder ähnliches. Das Papier selber hat eine angenehme Oberfläche welche sich theoretisch auch gut für Füller eignet. Theoretisch deswegen weil die Druckfarbe mit der die Dots und die Action Flächen (in grau und orange) auf jeder Seite gedruckt sind alles andere als Tintenfreundlich sind - ganz im Gegenteil - diese Flächen sind regelrecht tintenabstossend. Beim Schreiben auf dem Papier sieht das geschriebene Wort durchlöchert aus da die grauen dots keine Farbe aufnehmen. Und in den Actions kann man nichts reinschreiben mit Tinte da eben auch keine Tinte dort aufgenommen wird.Habe das Buch mit einem normalen Gel-Rollerball verwendet und siehe da mit Pigment-basierten Inks alles wunderbar.In Summary: Für Füllfederhalter ist dieses Notebook nicht verwendbar, für Rollerballs und ähnliches gut einsetzbar.Die verwendeten inks bei meinen Schreibversuchen waren Noodlers Blue-Black in Lamy Scala 1.1 stub nib und Diamine Burnt Siena in TWSBI 580 Diamond mit M nib.

This journal feels lovely and the paper quality is reasonable. There's a very chunky elastic band that feels pleasantly different than other similar books.But the thing that has disappointed me deeply is that the thick bands of colour printed on the left hand of the page are so dark (and I choose the turquoise one, so not actually a dark colour), but on the journal, they show through to the other side of the paper. Right the way through the book. It's not the quality I want.And as this is aimed at creatives who care about detail this show through seems very sloppy. If you're going to use their system do it on something where you're not writing on the back of the pages - the notepad or cards perhaps. If you care about paper and stationery, then don't get this book. It's annoying and although useable, it'll upset your artists eye for sure.

Expensive but quality questionable. Paper slippy, waxy. Overall In my opinion this is not a very attractive product. I won't be buying another.
