BESENERGY EV J1772 Extension Cable 20ft Upgraded 40Amp 220V-240V Charging Cord for Electric Vehicle Compatible All SAE J1772 Chargers

The cord is thicker than the manufacturer provided cord with my Chrysler Pacifica. Works great, no issues. Added a 240V power source and continued using the extension cord. All works great in the New Jersey climate. I use it outside.Update: 15 Sep 2021 -- It's a year later and the cable has been holding up great. No signs of weathering nor wear. I run it across a walkway with a walkover cable protector.But three things an electrical inspector told me, nothing against the quality of the product:(1) The charger needs a permit; (2) you can't run the cable over a walkway even with a protector. It should be buried; (3) the cable isn't marked U/V for outdoors.But a year later and it is still a good purchase and is fine outdoors.

While all charging cords are expensive, this was the lowest priced with good reviews and is as advertised. It works well, no log in charging and is very high quality.

As simple as that, an extension that works fine, we needed that to take the charger out of the garage when we can’t park in, and it worked like a charm. I hope it can resist the weather well as I am not bringing it back into the garage.

I needed to park outside my garage and still charge my car. This was the perfect length, without any issues when it comes to heat or connection. My charging is limited to 25Amps, so far from the 40Amps this is rated for.I like the sturdiness, and I have no issues plugging it into my BMW i3. Highly recommended.

Item arrived on date promised.Attaches securely to my existing type 2 EV charge cord nozzle. Cable seems to actually be of higher weight and grade than the cable I am extending. First charge worked flawlessly.If anything changes I will write again.If they had a 10 foot length I would have preferred to purchase that.

For the first year this was fantastic. Now a year later and it stops charging after around 20 minutes. I feel where it plugs into my car and it is HOT... so I guess if you buy this don't expect it to last beyond a year and a few days.

EDIT: DO NOT BUY. 1.5 years of use and the J1772 plug gets *HOT* when used. My OpenEVSE keeps tripping on and off because the connector can't even handle 30A. After charging for an hour, my J1772 port is ~84C which is *WAY* too hot.The J1772 cannot be opened for inspection / repair... so i'm out $100 for a new plug.I purchased the 40A cable, and it did *not* disappoint. I purchased this extension to use with my OpenEVSE so i had the pleasure of immediately tearing apart the almost $200 cable :-)This cable is *extremely* sturdy and features a wire diameter of ~3.8mm That's actually a slightly larger 7 ga wire (they document 8ga). The wire is all copper as documented.The receiving J1772 is solidly crimped and each individual pin features a gasket internally to keep water out of the connector. The pins are well crimped onto the wires. The cable glands are rugged and well sealed.The 40A cable's overall diameter is 15.5mm

I've had it for a week and it's exactly what the description said. It's the best value for what it is on Amazon.

Very solid extension. The only qualm I have is that it didn’t come with a sleeve to cover the connection to protect against the elements

Works well, doesn't get hot, easy to use.Happy so far.

We do not have a T2 charger at our place. So after an unexpected purchase of a Soul EV (we were only window shopping) we had to rely on trickle charging the car.The cable was too short to make it to our 110 outlet at the back of our garage, so we used a regular extension cable for three days while we waited for this to arrive.Do NOT rely on regular extension cables to work. The regular cable would heat up a lot...we had to keep tabs on it to make sure it didn't melt.Since this proper cable arrived, much better. Not Heating up like a regular extension cable and fits the 2018 kia soul outlet and the socket to the kia soul electrical charger.

Cet extension fonctionne très bien; même si ce dernier à un diamètre de câble plus petit d'environ ,050" / 1,2 mm que le câble de mon chargeur de 7,2 kW soit 32 A possibles. Après une charge de 5hrs à l'extérieur à une température de 16° C, le câble d'extension ne montrait aucune chaleur mais le câble de mon chargeur semblait avoir une très légère augmentation de température. Dans d'autres commentaires on parle que le câble «se détache» du connecteur; je n'ai pas pris de chance, et j'ai resserrai au maximum le gros écrou qui retient le câble en place. Al
