I LAYERED MY OWN HAIR
I have zero experience with cutting my hair and ALL KINDS of experience with not being able to get haircuts because I can't afford to pay $30 plus tip every two weeks! Honestly, unless you're changing your hairstyle you will never need to go to the salon again! You can just trim trim trim.

Just do it! (You’re teleworking anyway, no one will notice during your Zoom meeting)!
Update (5/31/20): Decided to add comparison details between the Bangmeng and the Tinkle. Both have their positive attributes. The Bangmeng has much longer comb teeth, so will not cut as close as the Tinkle. I use the Bangmeng on the top, and the Tinkle on the sides and back.Update (5/23/20): Added two more pictures after another "trim". Some additional observations: a) be sure to disassemble and clean really well, hair gets caught inside the comb head; found the best way to clean is remove the blades, then swish around in a bucket of water, b) experiment with the different head sides, since each one cuts a little different. Also really like the built in comb (vs. ones with only a handle), super convenient to flip it around, and comb, then flip it back and continue cutting.Original (4/23/20): During COVID-19, can’t go to the barber shop so using these to thin out my hair. I was a little worried about taking out a big chunk of hair, and my wife refused to even try as well. So I started with the taller side, and just “danced” around the bottom to get the feel. I started with the comb/blade perpendicular to my scalp. After combing through and not taking off very much hair, I began to CAREFULLY tilt the comb in 3-5 degree increments. After getting the feel of it, I moved to top of my head. After going over everything with the tall side of the comb, I repeated with the short comb side.Tips:Take your time.Try on a test subject first (sister, brother, unwitting friend, etc.)Use a mirror or the camera on your phone. If you hair is really long, you might want to take off half the length, and wash so you hair can reset, then have another "session".Remember the difference between a good and bad hair cuts is 3-6 weeks (depending on how fast your hair grows)!Tinkle Hair CutterPros: decent quality, functional, replaceable blades (included).Cons: no guarantee against operator error!https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B001DYM62CBANGMENG Hair Cutter CombPros: decent quality, functional, lower cost.Cons: no guarantee against operator error!https://smile.amazon.com/dp/B07M7JSNNC

Good hair styling tool for everyone
This is a tool everyone should have in hair styling and cutting arsenol. My husband has very thick hair and always needs to be thinned out. This tool is perfect for this. Also, I used it to cut layers in my hair and worked out good for this too. I am very happy I bought it. It was inexpensive and easy to use even for a novice like myself.

Good option for horse manes
My horse doesn't like having his mane pulled so I use this to help thin the ends of his mane when I shorten it for horse shows. I use a scissors to cut the bulk of his mane short and then use this razor to this the ends to make it look more natural instead of a blunt cut that the scissors will leave. Considering the other reviews that say how easy it can be to cut off too much hair if you're not careful, I was surprised at how hard it can be to cut my horse's mane with it. But horse hair is more coarse than human hair so that might have something to do with it. It will only work if I do very small sections at a time and apply a decent amount of pressure. But for the price, it works well.

Must be held at correct angle
Works well but must be held at the proper angle to work correctly. Gave texture to my hair! Would buy again

Does not use regular razor blades
I did not look close enough, but this does not use standard double-sided razor blades. It needs a special blade and I can't find them. Too late I read the comment from the seller "just order more blades" and when asked for a link to them he has not answered in 3 months. I am trying to use it to cut mats out of a long-haired cat's coat, it works but is not easy since these blades are really strange, not smooth razor blades. I'll probably replace the unit it one that takes regular razor blades.

Wonderful
Works Perfect and very easy. I don't recommend using it if you don't know how though. I bought it to replace the one a broke and it's wonderful.
