Force Majeure

Force Majeure created under some duress by EF & CF, Excellent Sound Quality, Nice Bonus track by CF.
I have been a Tangerine Dream fan for a long time. The first time i saw them live was at RAH 2nd April 1975, John Peel was there. I was in one of the boxes. 2 boxes up from me to the right i never forget a girl started wailing to the music and she moved in a motion to the music. She did this for around 10 minutes. If you listen to the Live recording of the concert you can hear her voice just above some of the music sometimes. That was a long time ago. This set Force Majeure was a struggle for Tangerine Dream and there was a contractual obligation by TD and Virgin to supply 1 x recording per year. Only Edgar Froese and Chris Franke were TD at the time, Klaus Kruger provided the drums input. EF and CF did pretty good. I do remember EF saying the track 1 (Force Majeure) the last 3 minutes or so was a sequence that he liked really very much. When you listen to that bit it is quite stunning and inventive, Track 3 (Thru Metamorphic Rocks) sequence was a anomaly in the recording session where the tape had not recorded properly and added its own properties. It was a one of event that TD were never able to duplicate. Track 3 Part of the session surfaced in the Thief Soundtrack, this is the original track with some overlay keyboards on top. To my mind this particular Sequence recording bit is quite unlike anything else in electronic sequence music, its intense and ultimately totally unique. It is a very stunning track. All 3 tracks were created under pain and stress and time constraints to deliver. When you appreciate the history of the sessions its a quite wonderful LP/CD experience. My only negative bit of feedback on this CD release is that most of the pictures are from the Cyclone period and have nothing to do with this release (Force Majeure). Excellent remaster sound quality by Ben Wiseman at Broadlake Studios, I reckon this will probably be the best we ever get of this now. I picked up one of Ben's other remasters recently of the LAPO/Metha Decca 38 x CD set. Yes I listen to a lot of classical music. Long story! Hope you enjoyed my personal bit of insight.

Outstanding
An outstanding quality CD. This has transferred to CD wonderfully. Rich and involving, with a great dynamic range. The music is carefully woven with an enormous emotional undertone. Cloudburst flight, track 2, is deftly crafted. Its mature beat, vital top notes and vast soundscape is overwhelming, submerging the listener in an unhesitatingly satisfying symphonic excursion of energetic exhilaration. Simply outstanding.

Hard to believe that I did not have this incredible piece of music ( I have about 30 TD albums/cd's) playing loud as I drive home from work, fantastic
