Good read. Very informative

I wouldn't recommend buying this book now. I have it for a class and almost everything is outdated and doesn't work anymore. If they release a new version it could be good but the newest one is already outdated. Most of the work you do will be searching online for answers.

I like this book a lot actually. It covers just enough in each chapter to give you a good overview. You will certainly have to do your own learning outside of this book if you want to dive deeper than scratching the surface for a particular platform. However, this is a great resource for an introduction to Android, iOS, and Windows Phone.My only concern with this book is a whole chapter dedicated to App Inventor and Phone Gap....both of these are basically useless when it comes to really programming for any of the platforms. I would have much rather seen an extra chapter for each platformed that focused on more advanced programming examples.Overall, a good book though.

Even though this book is outdated by a few years, this still seems to be the best text to introduce all three platforms. Author updates this link with more recent information:[...]. Book is written very nicely.
